Failure to launch - blank main window

Using Windows 7 Pro. DisplayFusion no longer works properly. When launched it displays a small square blank main window. No functionality. Uninstalled and even tried loading previously working versions. No Joy, Not sure what changed, haven't loaded anything new. Any ideas what may be causing it?

Strange! Could you create or enable the following registry key to enable debug logging, then start DisplayFusion again, and send me the debug log (%APPDATA%\DisplayFusion.log)?

Key Name: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Binary Fortress Software\DisplayFusion
Value Type: String (REG_SZ)
Value Name: LogDebug
Value Data: 1

Just tried same results. I get the frame for the main menu, but no contents or functionality. Any other ideas. I have scanned my PC with a variety of virus, malware and spyware software. PC is running god and clean. Any other Ideas?

It's possible that the .NET Framework on your system could be messed up. Windows 7 has .NET 3.5 and below built-in, so you can try repairing it by following the instructions on this page: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/astebner/archive/2007/03/26/how-to-repair-the-net-framework-2-0-and-3-0-on-windows-vista.aspx

If you have .NET 4 installed as well, you can try re-installing/repairing it as well from Control Panel > Programs and Features.

If the context menu still shows up blank, can you try launching the Settings window from Start > All Programs > DisplayFusion > DisplayFusion Settings?

Hi Keith,

performed the scan - no issues, Uninstalled .4 - same problem reinstalled .4 - same problem. Regardless of what I try to initiate from a right click on desktop - Displayfusion options I get this screen, see attachment

Ok, 3.5 Beta 5 has more debug logging that 3.4.1. Could you set the LogDebug registry key (from post #2) to 3 and then reproduce the issue again? Please attach the whole DisplayFusion.log file if possible. The attachments are protected by default so that only you and Binary Fortress staff are able to view them.

Hi Bobby, are you using a custom theme, or have you modified any of your theme settings? From this log, it looks like your main UI font has been changed to "Aharoni", but it doesn't support the style "regular". It's possible that the font is corrupt, but I can test further if you let me know which theme you're using. Thanks!

True I am using a modified theme, however, the font says SEGOE UI, the same as Windows 7 Basic. I tried a few default themes and nothing changes and the log entries still state Font 'Aharoni' does not support style 'Regular'. What is weird is that there isn't a choice for Aharoni for any selectable fonts in Windows 7 color and Appearance menus. Where is it getting Aharoni from?

OK I fixed it. I went into the Registry and deleted 4 different references to Aharoni. Unfortunately I didn't copy the locations but they were all font related. It now works. Thank you much for your time and efforts. BobbyT

No I am not, haven't adjusted any settings font wise. Only changed pictures. Bizarre how it might have changed. What is your default font?

My default font is Segoe UI in Win7. We'll look into this further, but I'm glad to hear you've got it fixed for now.
