Now that Enabling disabled monitors in monitor profiles has been sorted it would be nice to also be able to assign a sound playback device in the monitor profiles.
I currently use 2x dvi monitors with desktop speakers, plus also a HDMI connection to my AV receiver through a Nvidia card.

Now I can easily swap between the two monitor profiles but I still have to swap the default sound manually.

I know it's not technically "display" but it does complement the process of having hotkeys to swap profiles.

Cheers

Jonathan

This is currently on our feature request list, but not something we're planning to implement at the moment. I have added your vote to the request though, so I'll be sure to post an update here if we're able to implement it in the future.

Thanks!

I also agree that this would be an extremely valuable (and extremely easy) feature to implement. My primary use of DisplayFusion is to use a single computer to feed video to an HDTV, and workflows to a dual-monitor workstation elsewhere in the house. Switching sound manually is a huge drawback of this setup.

Hello,
As the previous poster, I am looking for a software to enable me to switch between a desktop-monitors setup and TV setup, changing the sound devices as well.
I am considering buying your software when this feature is implemented.
Kind regards,

I also think this would be a great feature. Seems like the only thing it is missing right now.

Hello,

I'll add my two cents (and my vote) on this feature request - I think it would be something very useful as I haven't yet found a good solution on how to do it easily, so it could become a main feature against the competition.

For example, my computer outputs to two screens, a third TV, and three sound outputs. Having the possibility to add sound outputs with the monitor profiles would be great.

Btw, here's a forum thread where one guy released a small freeware just doing the audio output switching by keyboard shortcut - a lot of people happy and eager to pay for it :

Umm, yeah. This is the one feature that would make displayfusion legendary. So that's one more vote. (Or as many as you need to bump this to a priority! Please!) Also, I'm not 100% sure, but would it possible to suppress the Monitor Configuration dialogue that comes up when swapping between monitor configurations? That would be great too. Being asked if I want to keep my changes or revert every time is an annoyance. I can understand the importance of this feature when you are treading into the unknown, but when I'm swapping between my tv and my desktop, that dialogue is just a nuisance.

Hope to see this feature request sooner than later.

Cheers, and keep up the great work!

You can definitely disable the confirmation prompt. In the Advanced Settings, just enable the "Monitor Configuration > Don't Show Confirmation Prompt" option and you should be all set :)

Add my vote too for the same reason. I have bought displayFusion only for the profile manager and because my second profile sends the image via hdmi to the television.

It will be nice if we can script within the profile so when a profile is enabled, our script or a executable is executed. This way we can solve the audio problem by ourselfs.

Some info about changing audio programatically:

Please add my vote as well. I use monitor profiles to switch from my dual-screen desktop setup to my television that is several meters away. The DisplayPort/HDMI connection enables sound to be transferred through the same cable. Automatically switching the playback device would be a great addition.

Well, I don't really find it that hard to click on the taskbar volume control icon and select a different source as default ;-)
Takes < 3 seconds...

We've just released a new DisplayFusion beta version and you can now assign a default audio device to a Monitor Profile in the Manage Monitor Profiles window :)

Thanks!

I'd like this as well. Would also be nice to be able to set hotkeys to change output devices without needing to write a custom script.

@Steve: This feature (audio devices assigned to monitor profiles) is already in DisplayFusion. You can set them in the Monitor Configuration > Manage Monitor Profiles window.

I've added your feature request for functions to switch audio devices to our feature request list :)

Thanks!
