I usually use the secondary monitor to display my twitter feed so I can watch it while I'm playing. Since I'm not using the mouse at all, the power profile normally kicks in and turns off the monitor

Is it possible to implement a monitor profile option that allows you to disable Window's monitor turnoff and sleep operations?
