When chrome is maximized, there is a tiny space between the 'add tab' button and the 'minimize' button for DF's titlebar buttons. How about adding a per-application collapsed-buttons option so that in chrome, the titlebar buttons are minimized to a single button and needs either a click or hover to expose all the buttons?
