I did a search and didn't see anything, so I apologize if this has been requested before.

I'd like the option to click and drag shortcuts to basically anywhere in the available free space on the taskbar.

I have my secondary monitor set up so that it always has specific programs running, and those programs are in a static location on the monitor. I'd like to be able to more accurately place the taskbar icons in relation to the program position on the screen. I've made a quick mockup of the idea ;)

I don't know how many people would be into something like this, so I can understand if it would be a low priority update, but I just think the option would be nice, put it right below the other ones under Button Alignment: Automatic, Left, Right, Middle, Manual.

As for icons and windows that are not part of the existing shortcuts, it could be like on some Linux taskbars: give the user the ability to drag that around too. For example, in my image, let's say that VLC, the Windows Explorer, and Chrome were not shortcuts. Just to the left of VLC would be a little area where the user can click to drag to re-position that whole section of 3. It would grow to the right if new icons are added.

OK, well, now that I have done a pretty terrible job of explaining my idea, I'll be off. Hopefully there is someone else out there who has a similar usage on their secondary (or even tertiary) monitor and can chime in as well!

Thank you for the feature request! Unfortunately, this would require a complete redesign of the taskbar code, so it's not really feasible at the moment. However, if it gets enough requests, we'll certainly look into it further.

Thanks!
