The application obviously knows the names of available audio devices (shown under the Audio Menu). It seems silly that we need to type in the audio device names in scripts, which completely break if a new audio device is added.

It would be great if this list of audio devices were added to the scripting API. Thanks.

This is currently on our list to add to the scripting API :)

In the meantime, if you're wanting to load the audio devices into a drop-down list, there's a sample script in the repository for that: https://www.displayfusion.com/ScriptedFunctions/View/?ID=48a5f22d-035e-4ea4-9782-a7b7de96d8d3

Also, if you just type "BFS.Audio." and double-click one of the "SetDefault..." functions from the box that pops up, a drop-down list will open, allowing you to select the audio device so that you don't have to type it in.

Hope that helps!

I use the popup example for the audio devices that are always plugged in.
But it doesn't work for ones I plug in randomly (like speakers on a presentation TV). For that I need to have the actual current list of audio devices.

Ok, thanks! We'll let you know as soon as we've added this to the scripting functions :)

We've just released a new DisplayFusion beta version (http://www.displayfusion.com/Download/Beta/) and there are now scripting functions for getting the list of audio devices:

Thanks!
