I have been using the DisplayFusion Pro for a long time now. Love the addition of the start menu button in the new beta!! There is one thing I have always been wanting to do, and that is pinning icons to the 2nd taskbar... Don't know if that is possible to add or not.. Thanks!
There is an option to do this, although the process is a bit different from pinning items to the Windows 7 taskbar
To pin items to the DisplayFusion taskbar, you'll actually create "Taskbar Shortcuts" by right-clicking the DisplayFusion taskbar and going to Multi-Monitor Taskbar > Shortcuts > Edit Shortcuts.
More info can be found here: http://www.displayfusion.com/Help/#contextmenu-taskbar-shortcuts
Sweet!!! I didn't realize that option was in there. Also, the forcing it to stay on the same monitor is awesome. I don't mind not having the simple pin option. Setting it up how I want first is fine, even if it takes a few minutes.
Further to the OP's question. I would like to 'pin' an application to the DF taskbar. I have currently created shortcuts to applications on the taskbar but when I click on them it puts another icon for the currently open process effectively duplicating the icons. Is this the correct behaviour? How do I set DF up so that it emulates Windows taskbar?
Note: If two instances of the same application are opened they group together nicely but still leave the initial shortcut on its own.
Ok, thank you very much. Out of interest where can I find the current open feature requests?
I would like to vote for another request too. Being described as follows:
When I minimise a window on my 2nd monitor (with the window's icon set to be only on the DF taskbar) the animation appears as it is going to the windows taskbar on my first monitor.
Our feature request list is not posted publicly, but I've added your vote to it. We think we've got a solution but still need to test it a bit, so keep an eye out for it as it may be included in one of the next few beta versions.
Hi, can we get an update on the status of this feature, I am seeing a lot of betas coming through but as far as I'm aware still no joy. An ETA please??
Unfortunately it won't make it into 3.4.0, but we're planning to include it in 3.4.1 as long as all goes well. I'll be sure to post an update when we release a 3.4.1 beta version that has proper taskbar pinning included.
I'd like to add my vote to the "make the shortcuts behave like the Windows 7 pinned items" enhancement. Would complete the experience!
Does this include an opened item appearing on top of the actual shortcut as opposed to the current setting of it appearing next to the existing "pinned" shortcuts?
