Hello,

I've seen that there is a "Run as administrator" feature request. Actually, I'd have the opposite request: A "run a normal user" option. I'm launching DisplayFusion as administrator so that it can change the logon screen without UAC prompt. However, all tasks launched from a DisplayFusion task bar are then also run as administrator.

This is a problem with programs that merge multiple instances, for example tabbed text editors where opening a file will open a new tab. Since the first instance is run as admin and the one from the explorer is not, they cannot communicate, causing a second instance of the program to open instead.

Thanks in advance !

I'm not sure that it's actually possible to de-elevate before launching an external process, but we'll actually have a better solution soon. We're planning to move the Windows Logon Background code to the DisplayFusion Service, so that it can change it without throwing a UAC prompt, even if DF isn't run elevated.

We'll let you know as soon as that's been implemented :)

Thanks!

We've just released a new DisplayFusion beta version and changing the Windows Logon Background will no longer throw a UAC prompt. Please let us know if you run into any trouble after updating.

Thanks!
