I've been using DisplayFusion Pro for a couple of months. I've recently started having a problem where Firefox will reopen on the primary monitor, even though it was on the secondary monitor when it was last ran and closed. I can reproduce this 100% of the time. Even as I type this, I'm viewing FF on the secondary (DisplayFusion taskbar) and if I close it and relaunch it, it will open on the primary. I did just upgrade to 4.1 recently, but I am not sure if the issue started right at the time of upgrade. I'm using Windows 7 64 bit and Firefox 15.0 .

Thanks,
-Jeff

Oh, I should note that I installed DisplayFusion 4.2.0 Beta 1 a few minutes ago, and it yields the same result.

Unfortunately this seems to be a Firefox bug. I've tested and confirmed it even without DisplayFusion running. I tested it out like this:
  • Exited DisplayFusion
  • Launched Firefox, it opened maximized on one monitor
  • Moved it to the other monitor using the built-in Windows 7 maximized window dragging
  • Closed Firefox and re-opened, it launched on the original monitor, not the one it was on when I closed it :(
Please let me know if you have any other questions at all.

Thanks!

Thank you for the quick response. Sorry for the false alarm, I didn't know that the apps themselves retained their monitor position, I mistakenly thought this was a function of DisplayFusion. Thanks again.

Armed with your information, I found this fix, which worked for me. I'll post it in case other DisplayFusion users find this thread:

1. Un-maximise Firefox window
2. Position un-maximised window on monitor of you choice (second)
3. Close Firefox window
4. Reopen Firefox window
5. Maximise Firefox window
6. Close Firefox window

Thanks again,
Jeff

Jeff,

Thanks so much for the cure. It worked perfectly on my FF17.
