Hi, I've been using display fusion for a few years now. I've had this small issue with Firefox & Display Fusion for a while now (year+ maybe?)
The problem
Sometimes when I use the shortcut to keys (CTRL+WIN+X) to move Firefox to the next monitor, instead of moving it sort of jumps a little bit but ends up back where it started. When this happens I have to try several times until it eventually switches monitors. Firefox is the only program I've had this issue with. I believe this issue started with Firefox 4 (tabs on the top). It's really unpredictable and hard to reproduce, but I think I've managed to capture it in my "detailed log" that is attached. I'll try and dig through it to find any suspicious logs.
It's not a huge bug/issue by any means, but who knows maybe fixing this will fix something else?
Thanks,
Simon

I'm attaching another log file. I captured it right after I had Firefox "jump" on me, it only happened once before actually switching monitors. The time it happened was right around 10:00am which is pretty close to the end of the log file.
Thanks,
Simon

Which version of DisplayFusion are you currently on? We've just released the final version of 4.0. Could you give it a try when you have a chance and let me know if the same issue still occurs?
Thanks!

Woops, sorry for not including that.
OS: Win7 x64
Display Fusion Version: 4.0.0 b17
Firefox Version: 13 (beta channel)
No worries! I'll test it out with the Firefox 13 beta to see if I can reproduce it here as well.
Ok, sounds good Simon, thanks!

I've attached another log file. I believe the issue occurred around 2012/05/10 08:36:44.72. I've also attached the information in the Troubleshooting tab, I had to trim out some information about Task Manager because it was over 10MB. Hopefully this will give some more insight as to what's going on.
I do have a number of Firefox Addons, hopefully they're not interfering with DF. I can try disabling them and browsing around for a bit and see if I can still replicate this issue.

So I disabled all but to of my Firefox Addons (except Adblock Plus and Download Statusbar) and plugins (except Flash) yesterday. I just tried to move Firefox again and it was acting up again.
I attached the log file again, I believe this was the first key press:
2012/05/22 12:17:05.90: INFO:L1: frmMain:WndProc: --: --: --: --: --: --: HotKey Pressed: Move Window to Next Monitor (CTRL;WIN;88)

I unfortunately haven't been able to reproduce this issue since it happened the one time. Have you been able to find a way to consistently reproduce it on your system?
Ok, thanks! Just let me know how it works out when you get a chance to try that stuff out.

I just installed 4.1.0 b11 which was said to have "Fix: Resolved a maximized Firefox window movement issue". I'm not sure if that was targeted at the issue I've been having or another issue. Either way, I'm still experiencing my issue.
I noticed that maximized windows move a lot slower than non-maximized windows - that is to say when they move at all.
I've been busy with other stuff and I do still need to try with a fresh firefox profile to see if that resolves anything.
It was a similar issue, but related to Firefox 14 when certain pages with Flash content were loaded. Are you on Firefox 14?

I'm up to date on the beta channel, sitting at version 15.0 right now.
I think I know why I said it seems slower. When Firefox is maximized, it won't change windows until the Win + X keys are released (Ctrl can still be pressed). When minimized or using any other programs, the window switches when all 3 keys are pressed down. I don't want to get to off topic, but is this new?
It is new, we had to do that to fix up the other issue.
Would you still be able to try a clean Firefox Profile and let me know how it goes?

I was having the same issue for almost a year now as well but just dealt with it. Finally looked to see if there was a solution today and TaDa, someone else had the same issue and it's just been resolved! Thanks!
Glad to hear it Justin!
@Simon: It turned out to be a weird issue when certain Flash content is being shown in the browser, so it might have only shown up when you were on certain web pages.
I was able to reproduce it while playing a video on YouTube, but it's possible that there were other types of Flash content that could have caused it as well.
