Hi again,

Here is a non-blocking issue I've come accross: I am experiencing screen flickering when running Milkdrop visualization engine (v2) supported by Winamp. This only occurs when running in so-called "desktop" mode, i.e. when the viz runs in the back instead/on top of the usual wallpaper. The viz keeps flickering and I see the wallpaper through it.
Ah forgot to mention that everything used to run fine before I installed DF, this is why I'm mentioning it here.

Any idea?

Thanks,

JF

Can you let me know the versions of Winamp, Milkdrop and Windows I can try to replicate the issue here. Thanks! :)

I am under Win 7.
My computer is an HP Pavilion Elite HPE, with:
- intel core i5 650 @3.20 (64bits)
- 6G RAM
- Nvidia geforce GT 230 with 1.5 G RAM

Thanks,

Sure, here is some additional stuff:

Winamp v5.572(x86) - Jan 13 2010
MilkDrop 2.2
Full-screen and desktop modes configured to run on primary screen only.

I basically tried all the options to see if flickering was solved :) None worked but the flickering only occurs when running in desktop mode (in place of the wallpaper that is).

Thanks,

Jeff

Ah, desktop mode. That's probably the kicker right there. :) So everything works as expected, unless the Winamp visualization is running in "desktop mode", is that correct?

Hi Jon, you're totally right here, only desktop mode is not fully functional.

I've just given a try with latest beta version, but the flickering is still on. The bad aspect here is that I don't have any error msg or log to report. Maybe I should try some other "desktop" applications, but I'm not aware of any.

In an effort to cleanup the DisplayFusion forum, this topic is being locked and archived because it applies to an older version of DisplayFusion. If you are using the latest version of DisplayFusion and would still like some assistance, please create a new topic and I'll be happy to help you out. There are also beta versions available for testing the latest features and bug fixes:

Thanks! :)
