I have a 4k monitor on my desk split into 4 virtual desktops all at 1920x1080, we use tools like VMWare workstation / RDP / VNC etc all that have a "Full Screen" mode. Currently any of these apps will launch that full screen across the full physical monitor resolution vs just the virtual desktop space that you have allotted.
Is there a way todo this now in DF?
If not ... Is there any plan on adding this functionality, there are some other tools that will just do the virtual desktop that do have this functionality, but lack all of the other things that make Display Fusion the great product that it is.
Since the applications aren't maximized, DisplayFusion won't try to limit them to the virtual splits. You can setup custom Functions to size/move a window. If you're using a normal 2x2 split, you can use the built-in function "Move window to top-left" (top-right, bottom-left... etc) to force that fullscreen window to a part of the screen. I hope this helps!

hey jon. btw. try doing this to skype desktop app on a normal monitor on win10. its totally borked. never aligns properly.
@madlyfe: Was that with Skype on a full screen video call? Or just the contact list?
@Jon: Which applications have you tried that can constrain the full screen VMware windows to a specific split? I'd like to test them out here to see how they compare to DF.
Basically any application that is "full screen" vs Maximized. VMWare Workstation is the main one. We were running this on a Dell 34" UltraWide aka 3440x1440 so almost 2x 1920x1080.
@Jon: Sorry, my question wasn't very clear. You mentioned there were some other tools that could constrain the full screen windows like VMware to virtual monitors. Can you tell me which tools provided that functionality?
