I went to bed last night, everything was working exactly as is always has... Woke up today & noticed my taskbars were missing, so I try to restart Displayfusion & it won't respond. After forcing it to close with task manager I reopen it to see it sit there using 10-25% of my 3700X... doing absolutely nothing. No tray icon, no taskbars, no window... Nothing.
So I restart my PC after waiting a while to see if it would ever actually do anything, but that just ends in the same 10-25% CPU hogging with zero function... So I completely uninstall & reinstall displayfusion. Same thing, hogging CPU while doing nothing.
WTF happened last night?
Edit: I don't use antivirus besides Windows 11's built in security & displayfusion is set as an exclusion there.
Edit 2: ok after it was running in the background for over an hour before & while typing this up as soon as I posted the first edit my taskbars popped up & it seems to be working & I think I found the problem... All of my functions somehow got duplicated literally HUNDREDS of times... maybe thousands? The scroll bar literally won't move & I can barely use the window it's so laggy.
I noticed something similar happened a few updates ago where my functions all got duplicated a single time & I had to go in & delete the duplicates because it was causing binding issues. How can this be prevented? This is a pretty HUGE issue considering over night it completely bricked DisplayFusion...
Anyone know of an easy way to delete all these? It seems DisplayFusion reloads the entire list after every one I delete, causing it to stop responding for an extremely long time for each one, & as you can see by the image... that would take me days to weeks to finally delete them all.
Last Edit: For anyone else who gets this issue, the easiest way I found to get back in working order was to wait until it finally loaded, VERY SLOWLY navigate to the settings & export your borked settings before importing a backup(hope you have one). If the backup works but you made a lot of changes since then like me, you can then navigate to the folder with the backups & open them both with notepad to copy anything from one to the other.
It's not fun, it's tedious, & it's annoying as all hell, but it is possible to get back where you were this way. There were well over 2000 duplicate functions in my settings file...
