I have just got DisplayFusion installed but had - quite without any good reason - expected a bit more in regards to multi-monitor setup.
I had hoped that you could ensure that certain applications always showed up on a certain monitor - is that correct that this is not part of DisplayFusion?
It seems that the compatibility setup simply was overinterpreted for my part as some programs work best on the first monitor - and compiler, debugger, etc. naturally should appear on the other, etc.
I had also hoped that you could setup different monitor setups that DisplayFusion then would swap around; this requires an example to explain so you can understand my intention...!
I have a notebook that is connected to both an external monitor and a projector. Usually I use the external monitor (larger and higher resolution) but in meetings and other gatherings, the projector is used to project agenda and content for the meeting. The notebook can only "drive" two monitors and in projector mode, I prefer Clone desktop mode while the Extended Desktop mode provides more pixel estate during normal work. All monitors unfortunately have different resolutions so this has to be adapted all the time when switching around!
So when I switch, I have to: Select new mode, change/ensure proper resolutions for both screens - press OK, wait and finally acknowledge that it works (within the 15 sec grace period) - and vice versa when I have to go back...
I can think of other nice setups, like when you have 2 or more monitors but only want to check mail in the morning, etc. Then it would be nice to have the setup for one monitor and not being forced to check the other monitors for the mail program that apparently turned up on the third monitor...
You can also have test situations where the multi-monitor setup should be controlled so all the supported setups can be tested without turning on/off, etc.
Simply put: Some few simple monitor setup combinations that could/should be tested and stored as presets - and then later simply switched by a hotkey!
The applause will take no end here...
But otherwise, thanks for a nice utility that certainly will prove handy in the coming days when the hotkeys are becoming normal habit!
