I'm having troubles sharing an application using GoToMeeting when Display Fusion is running. No matter what I do it will not share anything. It always says Screen Sharing Paused. When I close Display Fusion, everything works good. It appears as though it has something to do with the change monitor button or something...please help!

Let me elaborate as I think I see what the issue is...

I'm trying to share ONLY an application, not my entire screen. It would appear that the title bar buttons are what is causing the issue. When I attempt to share the application GoToMeeting says "Another window is on top of your shared application. Please move this window to resume screen sharing."

So does this mean I can not have title bar buttons on any application that I frequently share? Or is there something I can do to fix this?

Interesting! You should be able to work around it by creating a Compatibility rule for GoToMeeting, enabling the "Pause TitleBar Buttons while this Application is running" option. This should cause the TitleBar Buttons to be disabled any time GoToMeeting is running.

More detailed instructions can be found here: http://www.displayfusion.com/KB/TroubleshootingInfo/#createcompatibilityrule

Hope that helps!

Hi there - this appears to work for GoToMeeting:

In Display Fusion: settings > compatibility

application: g2mui.exe (enter the full path from the windows task manager)
settings: check "Disable TitleBar Buttons (all applications)"

turns off the displayfusion titlebar when the gotomeeting UI is running which keeps gotomeeting happy.

Hi

I have this same issue and have implemented the fix which seemed to work, however the flickering has started up again. I've confirmed the compatibility setting is still listed, but the flickering continues. Also it isn't a desired option for the Display Fusion titlebar buttons to be gone as they are still needed when using GoToMeeting - is there another option?

If you exit DisplayFusion, does GoToMeeting still flicker? I'm not sure that this is the same as the original issue in this topic, just want to confirm that it's related to DisplayFusion still.

Thanks!

Hi

Yes, as soon as I close DisplayFusion, the flickering stops

Ok, could you attach a debug log as per the following steps?
  • Enable debug logging on the Troubleshooting tab (set it to Logging: Important Only) and click Apply
  • Restart DisplayFusion
  • Reproduce the issue (please note the time so I'll know where to look in the log file)
  • Attach the %appdata%\DisplayFusion\DisplayFusion.log file to this topic (can be found by clicking the 'Open Log' button on the Troubleshooting tab)
  • Disable debug logging after sending me the log

Hi

Please find attached the debug log. Start time was 10:36, end time of 10:38 on 28/05. I noticed when sharing 1 of the monitors, I had the explorer window open and the flickering didn't occur, but as soon as I minimised that window, the flickering started again.

Thanks!

Thanks! Could you attach a screenshot of your Compatibility rule too? The log shows that the TitleBar Buttons are still being added to the g2mui.exe process.

Hi

Yes sorry, I removed that restriction as the user needed the title bars active during a meeting, and as the compatibility rule wasn't stopping the flickering, i removed it

If you disable the TitleBar Buttons completely (Settings > Functions tab), does the flickering go away? If not, could you also try disabling the Application Hooks in the Settings > Advanced Settings window?

Apologies, I thought I had updated this discussion

Making those changes you specified didn't stop the flickering from happening, however after closing display fusion recently so it wasn't running, I was still getting the flickering cursor - previous times i have done this the flickering went away, so this looks to be related to something aside from displayfusion

Ok, glad to hear it's not a DisplayFusion issue :)

Thanks for the update!
