If you go to your Google Cloud dashboard and click on your project, then go to APIs & Services > Credentials, does it show any issues with the API key?

Hi and tnx for answer :.)

Sends by some screenshots. Getting a little frustrated because the guide at (https://www.displayfusion.com/Discussions/View/configuring-the-google-images-wallpaper-source/?ID=57ffd23e-3b2c-4ef7-94da-07b1698f5fca#first ) doesn't quite match with the interface that clouds look like now. The guide is from 2015, and Google Cloads interface looks a bit different now.. Hope you can see from the screenshots I attach here if you can see that I have set up the API key correctly. Im not veery sure about that he he :) Thanks for the help so far :)

Your configuration looks ok! I've updated the guide just yesterday as well to match the new interface for the Google Cloud Platform site.

Your API key is likely ok, DF would show an error saying that the key is invalid if it was wrong or didn't exist. This seems more like a regular connection error. Do you have any firewall or security software that might be blocking DisplayFusion from connecting to the internet? Even the Windows Firewall might have a rule blocking it for some reason.

No firewall is blocking. Also tried to connect without VPN. But are you sure my API is correct? Since it is a little old user manual, I even wondered if the "Custom Search API" was actually selected in my layout? And it is "Custom Search API" to be used? Because when I chose it, it came up with some extra options that had to be selected ( and I cant see in the old usermanuel what to choose ) to associate with the Custom Search API and which I am simply not sure if is properly set up or even included in my API setup.(?) I cant click the "get your credantials" because the box is inactive/greyed out, surely because I have selected the wrong settings / choices there. Screenshot number 4 you can see that I do not be able to click on "get your credantials"

Regards and tnx

The API key in your last screenshot looks ok, but on that Get Your Credentials page, you can click the "skip this step and get an API key" link near the top, that will let you create the API key that you need.

If you still run into trouble, could you email me the API key that you're trying at support@displayfusion.com? Don't post it publicly here.

Thanks!
