I have just purchased a iMac and have set up a virtual machine using Parallels9 with Windows 8.1Pro, all good no problems either loading or running -so far! As I use a CAD program (Geomagic) a lot i would like to run dual monitors. Apple have corrected the dual monitor issue through Mavericks, a free upgrade from Mountain lion. But my concern is that the virtual machine cant recognize the second monitor. Can anyone help me.

Hello Keith
Thanks for taking the time from your busy schedule. The good news is -IT WORKS -yes I have a second non Apple brand monitor connected via Thunderbolt port using a VGA adapter. I have been testing it with a CAD design programme, DF enables me to work on both displays separately, just as if it was on a PC.
Just for the DF records my setup is; iMac running Mavericks (a free upgrade from Mountain Lion) using Parallels9 to enable me to use Windows 8.1 Professional. I have chosen Parallels over the native Apple programme Boot Camp because I can seamlessly switch from Mac to Win, using Boot Camp you have to choose from booting as to which HD you want to use, it is either one or the other not both.
Please note I haven't tried DF with Boot Camp. Let me know if you would like me to try. Cant see why it won't work.
Parallels' is great , Display Fusion is great, thank you for encouraging me Keith I almost gave up!
All the best for the new year, if I can help another Mac user I will be pleased.
Kind regards
