By primary I mean where my desktop icons/taskbar etc are. I know I could physically switch the monitors, but I have a single display output KVM switch where my two secondary systems share the right monitor ( I only use dual for my main system) and it's been like that for a long time and I'm set in my ways so I don't want those systems on the left monitor instead. Not sure how it happened in the first place and I figured it would be easy enough to fix but I'm struggling. Thanks for listening, any help is appreciated. You guys nailed my last problem, thanks again for that.

I'm not sure which version of Windows you are using, but just right-click on your desktop to access the display properties window. From here, you can change which monitor is your primary monitor. :)

I saw smth like that once, the pc had nvidia card with a monitor and a tv on the s-video and it refuse to make the monitor primary display. the solution was to uninstall the nvidia drivers, restart with the tv unplugged let windows install a default driver and make monitor the primary display then restart again, install nvidia drivers, then restart with the tv plunged and then activate the tv again. solved, that was on XP.

Thanks to both. XP Pro. I'll try to remove/reinstall the vid drivers. The situation is at work where fortunately I won't be until Monday. There is definitely something whacked, I can't just fix in display properties. At least I think so. I could drag the monitors around in the props windows and reverse them but all that did was change which was right and left (which way windows dragged off one to the other) but the monitor with my icons/taskbar etc never changed. I'll try it Monday. I want to say I saw some DF window right before the problem happened but I was in the groove working and just dismissed it or tried to. Thanks again I'll let you know ow I make out whether you are interested or not :-)

There should be a checkbox that says something like "Make this display my Primary" or something similar. :)

Thanks it was grayed out though. Removing the video card/drivers worked! Thanks. If this was not a DF problem I apologize for cluttering here though I must admit I'm glad I did because life is back to normal again. :-D
