I have Steam Edition of this program, upon bootup, maybe 1 time out of every 10, the System CPU usage is through the roof. as shown in the capture.
I am unable to load displayfusion settings, and my start menus on secondary screens do not load. after this occurs and i end the process when i restart, Steam prompts for its password and performs the setup again.
I have a memory dump from the locked process, however i do not want to share here publicly due to the specifics you can glean from the dump.
any suggestions on how to troubleshoot?

Hi Keith,
Just to add to FuzzyLogic's post, I am having the same intermittent issue.
If I "End Task" on DisplayFusion and reopen it is fine - looks like something breaks it when it is loading initially only.
I also will try reverting back a version to see if it helps.
Cheer,s Ben.
Thanks Ben! I will add your info to the open ticket.

I do not have the Steam edition. I'm using DisplayFusion Pro 9.1 and running into this issue -- like other posters, not every startup, but often enough to be noticeable (and annoying), and it's never happened before, though I don't know if when it started is related to a DF patch, a Microsoft patch, or just the phase of the moon.
When this occurs (and it only happens on Windows startup), I have to kill all DF processes manually. The DisplayFusion Service is typically using between 75 and 85% CPU, constantly, while this is happening, and interacting with the systray icon is slow and intermittent (anywhere up to 30 seconds before a window appears, if it appears at all, and nothing works in the window anyway).
I'm going to roll back to 8.1.2 and see if that clears it up. If a logfile or my system stats would help, let me know.
@Brian: How did the roll back to 8.1.2 work out?

@Keith: since rolling back the problem has vanished, and DF is again working as expected without any issues during startup. CPU usage is down to a fairly steady 0.3 to 0.8%.
If it helps diagnose any, I'm running Windows 10 Pro on an Intel i7-7700 @ 3.6GHz, 16GB RAM, and the boot disk that DF loads from is a SSD. I have 3 identical displays on a GeForce GTX 1060. As I said before, if detailed specs or a logfile (assuming there is one) would help, I can provide those.

Hi Keith,
For me with DF 9.1, it is not at startup, but more rarely 99% utilization under heavy usage. But in my situation, Windows 7 Pro (2 large monitors), with many processes and windows open. It is not easily re-created, but when it does happen, killing all resident DF processes, restarting the DF resolves the issue. I am often using evernote, chrome (incognito many tabs/windows), office 2013 (Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook) and often shooting windows to other monitor. When it does occur, I cannot get active windows to be responsive. I always Start with Windows and leave on Check for Updates Automatically.
Is there anything I should be trying to do in Task Manager at the time it occurs to help isolate? I usually am sorting by CPU Time (descending), and most other processes are below 1% when I am in the midst of the issue.
My issues were rare before, and I have had no so far with reoccurrence with 9.2 Thank-you Keith
Excellent, glad to hear it! If anything changes, definitely let us know.
Thanks!

I updated to 9.3 this morning, how do I know if I'm on 9.3c? When I go settings > check for update, it tells me I'm on the latest.

If you go to the "System Information" section on the Troubleshooting tab, what's the build date/time?

E: BTW, you said that you are able to reproduce this CPU issue consistently, I haven't noticed anything CPU related, but what triggers it?

I was able to trigger it intermittently but fairly frequently by unplugging and plugging monitors in, but it's possible that other scenarios could have triggered it as well. It was a somewhat generic threading issue.

Hi,
I am getting consistent CPU usage from DF of 10%-15% and am running the latest build:
• Name: DisplayFusion Pro 9.3
• Name Data: DisplayFusion
• Build Date: Jun 27, 2018 17:45
My question is what sort of CPU would be considered normal? I realize this is dependent on my configuration, but without uploading it all (attached) I was wondering if you can give me an idea of what sort of ball park CPU I should expect, to know if I even have a problem or this is just normal usage?
Thanks,
Andy

Hi I am experiencing the same issue where DisplayFusion Pro 9.3 regularly spikes my CPU usage to 99 - 100%. I am running this version on a Windows 10 Pro laptop. I typically will have to end task for DisplayFusion and then my CPU usage will drop back down to the 30 - 40% range. I read in the thread above that you recommended that updating to the beta version of DF 9.3 might be a possible solution.
Please advise if you have had good results with DF 9.3 users updating to the beta release on resolving this issue (at least temporarily).
Thank you.

Thanks! I noticed that you're running Bins as well. A long time ago we had an issue where when Bins was running, the DisplayFusion CPU usage would increase. If you disable Bins and restart DisplayFusion, does that make any difference?

It seems to have helped to disable Bins. I will need to test more fully to confirm that this interaction between DFP and Bins was the issue.
Thanks.

I've been seeing the same or a similar issue lately. I've noticed that my computer was sluggish, checking task mgr DF was consuming 100% cpu on a core. I've followed the suggestion above and have disabled the move option, hopefully that will help.
Running DF 9.5 Pro on Windows 10 Pro 1903.

Hi Keith,
where can I follow if/when the new beta is released? It was at /beta before but now there is only the stable version available. Do I overlook something?
Thanks.
When there's a beta available then that link will be live again. You can also enable the "Check for new beta versions" option on the Settings > Options tab to get notified automatically.

I saw you just posted 9.6 beta 2
Can I try that or is that an individual one for that guy?
