I didn't want to necro that old thread, but I'm in a similar situation. On my old primary PC, it used to tell me every so often that DisplayFusion had a high startup impact and wanted to know if I wanted to disable it. I always said no, because if there was a delay it seemed negligible.
Anyway, brand new PC, barely have anything installed on it. I use DisplayFusion for 2.1 things: multi-monitor taskbar and multi-monitor random image backgrounds. (The .1 is for saving/restoring my Desktop icons)
It also tells me that startup impact high, and in this case it's true. I haven't timed it, but it seems make the PC unusable after logging in for a good 30 seconds to a minute or more.
Following the above thread, I set the service to 'Manual' and rebooted the PC - I did this because apparently the service was already defaulted to 'Automatic (Delayed Start)'. The responsiveness of the PC after login was night & day.
What's odd to me is that even though I set it to manual, I still got my multi-monitor taskbars after I rebooted. I figured I would have had to manually launch DisplayFusion after logging in to get the taskbars back.
Before rebooting, I did go in to settings and look for anything I don't think I use (as the other thread suggested). After this post, I'm going to turn the service back on and see if it might have been one of those features. I'm thinking of also trying the service set to 'Automatic' without the Delay Start to see if that makes any difference.
----------------
Based on the above, is there anything else I can try? Or are there any logs I can send you?
Also, if the taskbars still work with the service set to manual, do I really need the service?

So I turned back on Automatic (Delayed Start) last night and rebooted. The lockup I was experiencing didn't come back. Weird.
Maybe it was one of the items I don't use that I turned off - not sure.
Glad to hear it's all good for now at least! If you run into trouble again, please let us know.
Thanks!
