Hey everybody, Im uninstalling DisplayFusion and i wanted to give the developers my feedback on why, so maybe it will help.
Your program tries to do waaay to much for me that i never would even want it to consider.
let me put it to you this way, if someone downloads displayfusion simply looking for a wallpaper manager that is actually competent (display fucsions is the only one worth the install thats free that ive been able to find) then what they get in the end is a god awful lot of multi monitor desktop tools for doing things with their monitors they never even wanted to think about.
It can be overwhelming to the consumer especially considering a lot of your potential consumer base most likely is just irritated with windows multimonitor wallpaper support.
another issue is when you install display fusion you are stuck with a number of features that may not increase productivity for people.
choosing which monitor applications open to is a great addition to include, but totally overriding the default windows snap and not allowing your users to keep display fusion installed and still use aero snap instead of display fusions is very bad decision to include.
The two issues i mentioned are the reason im uninstalling. I could live with the bloatware, even though i just wanted a functional multi monitor, but all of the sudden im trying to move windows, and they arent automatically resizing, the keyboard shortcut is totally different, and now you have to use two seperate hotkey combinations to snap and then resize.
A suggestion for fixing both problems; instead of one installer for everything, how about modular installers?
someone could go to the download page, download a pack of the core files, and then download a pack of whatever module/ groups of modules they want to use?
install the core file required, then install lets say the directory of files responsible for multi monitor support, and boom. Mission accomplished, and if you want anything else you can just grab that module off the site. you wouldn't even have to change the menu UX, you could just have options that aren't installed set to be greyed out like you do for the pro options
I would love to like your product, it has so much potential, it just seems that if someone wants one thing, they get the rest shoved down their throat
P.S. i bet you anything it would increase sales, I bet there are a number of people that could take advantage features like window snapping without multiple monitors, especially window to window snap, and if you sold the pro version of the module for like 5 bucks, throw in maybe one other super related feature and thats a decent price for the end user, and makes you more money.
OK, good luck guys, have a good one
In my opinion as a Pro version user, think you are missing the point of Display Fusion. Primarily it is a MULTIPLE montitor app and most of what it does has been added after user input. If all you require is a wallpaper manager then there are numerous to choose from.

Installing DisplayFusion doesn't stop Aero Snap from working. I use Aero Snap and DF window snapping all the time and they work in perfect harmony.
As Alan said, if you just want something for managing wallpapers, I agree there are dozens of programs out there that can handle that for you if you really have no use for other multi-monitor features.
@Merc410: I'm sorry to hear that you've left DisplayFusion, but there are other options so I hope you find something that suits your needs. It's strange that AeroSnap stopped working correctly for you, as it should perfectly fine with DisplayFusion running. If you would be interested in troubleshooting the issue we're here to help. As for the complexity, we have thought about making multiple versions (by feature or something), but then that creates the opposite problem where the apps aren't complex but figuring out which one you need to download is.

Given that DisplayFusion has a whole subsection dedicated to 'WallpaperFusion' I would imagine having a free standalone module for wallpaper management would be a logical choice, if it were a pure subset of DisplayFusion's features. Then, people could consider 'upgrading' to the free version of DisplayFusion, and then maybe pro later if they wished.
