Hi James,

Those are titlebar buttons, you can adjust them in the Functions tab of the DisplayFusion Settings window. We have a guide on that here: https://www.displayfusion.com/Help/#settings-functions

If you manually drag that window to the monitor you want it maximized on, does it work?

I have turned off all the function title bar buttons but these are still showing up. Any ideas?

In the DisplayFusion Settings > Functions tab, do you have "Enable TitleBar Buttons" disabled?

Yeah strange, if you close DisplayFusion do those icons go away?

Even after closing out display fusion the icons remain.

It must be a different app controlling those buttons then. Do you have any other third party apps installed that might be adding them?

This seems extremely unlikely as they didn't appear until I installed display fusion so no I have no other apps I can think of that would be controling these.

Any ideas? As the location of them is extremely annoying for me as they get overlaid right near the minimize buttons etc.

thanks!

If you open Task Manager > Startup > disable all the apps listed there and then reboot your computer, do the buttons go away? If so, you can re-enable those apps one by one until they come back.

So I have continued to try to troubleshoot this issue and have discovered something. My primary browser is Chrome and that is where the issue stems from. When I opened a Firefox browser window today I realized that it is not displaying those icons/functions. Any ideas?

It also is still doing it in Excel and Thunderbird but not skype for example.

Could you send me a copy of your troubleshooting info? Here are the steps:

  • Open the Settings > Troubleshooting tab
  • Click the "Export Info to File" button
  • Reply with the file attached
