How to prevent Monitor Profiles to change automatically?

I have an annoying issue that happens regularly.

My main profiles are
- Only PC monitors output
- Only TV output

What drives me nuts is that the monitor profile automatically changes when the TV is turned on or off.

Let's say "TV Only" is enabled, and the TV turns itself off after an hour. The profile then automatically changes to "PC only" and the monitors light up.

If I then power back on the TV later in the day, DisplayFusion automatically turns off my PC monitors and goes back to the "Only TV" profile even if I don't want it to.

Maybe the problem is upside down...what if the problem is actually that the monitor profile DOESNT change automatically when my TV powers off, so "TV only" remains active in the background unless I remember to change it to "PC only".

I never have these issues when i power on or off my PC monitors, but there must be something with the TV and HDMI that prevents the PC from recognising that it's plugged in when it's on standby...

HDMI TV's have a pin in the connector that tell Windows whether it's on or off, and Windows removes it when it's off. DisplayFusion isn't changing the monitor configuration, it's Windows adjusting the configuration when the TV is swapped on and off.

It does kind of, but it seems like a huge waste of natural resources to even make that thing when it could be solved with simple code.

Now that my TV turned itself off, the profile has correctly been changed to "PC monitors", so why does DisplayFusion automatically change it to "TV" when I turn the TV back on?

If I manually change the profile to "Only PC" while the TV is on, I can then turn the TV off and on without anything changing. My problem only happens if the TV is turned off WHILE the "TV only" profile is used.

It's like DisplayFusion is hardwired to revert to the last manually set monitor profile when a new monitor is enabled. I can't see any signs that it's related to Windows or Monitor ID.

The reason why I care isn't just the annoying interruption, nor is it the waiting. It's a big problem with a lot of apps when the monitor profile changes inadvertently. Some games become windowed, some apps GUI starts bugging out, etc.

DisplayFusion runs through the current monitor configuration to see if it matches any saved profiles. If there is a match, it will show it's detected in the monitor configuration window, but that auto detection doesn't actually change any monitor configuration settings (it doesn't load the profile).

If you have your TV on, exit DisplayFusion, and then turn the TV off, does it still switch to the monitors? Does it switch back to the TV when powered back on?

I performed this test just now. Yes, it behaves exactly like you describe. So DisplayFusion isn't causing the behavior, but what I need is for the monitor profile to lock the monitor profile whenever things get unplugged.

I'm not expecting you to write that feature, so I will probably have to live with it. Does it sound like something one could write in Scripted Function?
