Hi everybody,

Apologies if this has been answered somewhere. I've searched through the forum and through the overwhelming number of options in the software and I still can't find it :)

All I want to do is have Displayfusion remember where my icons are on the taskbar on all monitors. Every time I reboot I have to arrange them back to be in the order I prefer.

Also, for bonus points, how can I make it so the icons on all taskbars are the same? For instance I have a shortcut on my main monitor's taskbar to windows explorer but it's not on other monitors. If I add one to the other monitor they act independently of one another (ie. clicking it opens another explorer window instead of maximizing the existing open one).

Thanks so much for everything. Love the software!

Hi Jesse,

Are these pinned icons that are getting erased each time you reboot? Are they disappearing off the taskbar, or just rearranging themselves?

For your second point, we have this open as a feature request. I've added your vote to it, so we'll be sure to let you know if we have any news on it in the future.

Thanks!

Hi there. They're pinned icons, yes, but they're not being erased. They're losing the position I put them in after I reboot.

For instance I have explorer, chrome, slack, etc in order.

After a reboot they're jumbled back to seemingly random order.

I had this fixed before with displayfusion. I think I may have saved a profile or something. I'll fiddle with it.

Hi Jesse,

Thanks for sending that over. If you just sign out and back in, are the icons rearranged?

Thanks!

I just tried signing out and back in and the issue persisted.

On a lark I tried enabling the built-in multi-monitor taskbar that windows 10 has these days and it seems to have fixed the problem. I'm not longer using Displayfusion but it served me very well for quite some time so I consider it to have been an excellent investment.

Perhaps I'll look into its ability to manage wallpapers and other things in the future. For now, though, I believe my issue is resolved.

Thanks very much for your attention in this thread.

Hi Jesse,

Very odd, I'll try to reproduce the issue on my end in the coming days. If you would like to do any further troubleshooting in the future, feel free to reach out to us.

Thanks!

Last replay was 2021 and wondering if icon position locking on taskbar is available? Not sure how or why (likely my fault and inadvertently moving). Love the product, just hoping feature was added and I missed it or coming soon?

Hi Tim,

We don't have a way to lock them, but they shouldn't be moving either without manually adjusting them. If you open the "Taskbar Shortcuts" window in DisplayFusion before & after they're moved, are they swapped around in that list as well?

I am sure i am moving them, just inadvertently. If i go to taskbar shortcuts, the list always matches (before it shows original icon location, if i move an icon anc check after the move, the new location is reflected. Thank you for follow up, hope new feature is considered and added.
