Currently, I'm using Functions for "move window to next monitor" and "move window to previous monitor". However, not all of my monitors are the same size, so some apps may be moved and somehow automatically maximized (by Windows) to a smaller monitor, then when I move that to a larger monitor, it sort of spasms out a little bit. Note, I'm NOT using the "move window to next monitor and size proportionally", nor am I using the one that maimizes the window after the move. It's kinda hard to explain, but essentially the fix is to restore the window so it isn't maximized, THEN move the window.

Is there a function that can do this for me? I can see functions that move the window and then size, but I want the opposite.

If you enable "Use Alternate Method To Move Windows (for testing only)" in the DisplayFusion Advanced Settings, and then use the "Move window to next monitor" function, does that fix it up?

Thanks!

Just tried it, didn't make a difference.

The main issue is with Office apps like Word. When the app is maximized and you move it to another monitor, it sometimes doesn't move it properly, like it will make the Word window spaz out a bit and sometimes after the move, there will be a ghost image of Word on the old monitor screen. OR, sometimes when you restore the app window, it will show up on the old monitor instead of the new one.

At the moment, I'm using Autohotkey to first restore the window, then move it (using DisplayFusion hotkey) to the next monitor, then maximize the app. This only applies to Office apps, so all other apps that are not affected are still moved by just DisplayFusion. Ideally, if this could be fully fixed in DisplayFusion, that would be great.

Give this script a shot. It will restore the window, wait half a second, and then run the move to next monitor function. You can import it via the DisplayFusion Settings > Functions > Scripted Function > Import Scripted Function.

Thanks!
