I would like to open my RDWeb session using the "Windows Location" to place the session in a specific monitor and location on the monitor.

What kind of window does the RDWeb session open in? Does it open in a new web browser window?

I believe it actually runs a Remote Desktop session for the single application we choose from the default.aspx page of the RDWeb

On the DisplayFusion Settings > Triggers tab, if you add a new rule, and use the target icon for Process Filename to grab the process path of that window, what path does it return?

I do not see a Tiggers tab, I can setup a remote access session with you if this would help.

Which version of DisplayFusion are you running? If you're not already on 8.0, could you try updating at the link below? Triggers replaced Window Location in 8.0.

I was able to get it to open in a predefined location, thanks.

Can we also add title bar functions?

Can you try disabling the Command Line Parameters and Window Class match conditions? The Process Filename and Window Text conditions should be enough to match the window. If that doesn't help, could you send me a debug log?
  • On the Troubleshooting tab, change the Logging drop-down to "L1: Log Minimal"
  • Restart DisplayFusion
  • Launch the RDWeb app and note the time so we'll know where to check in the log file
  • Send us the DisplayFusion.log and DebugInfo.html files (can be found by clicking the Open Log button on the Troubleshooting tab)
  • Disable debug logging after sending the log

Hi Keith,

I have been away and had a number of pressing projects to address.

I hope the log files you requested will assist in making the RDWeb access programs will make use of the Display fusion features.

Thanks! We'll review these logs and see what we can find out.

Sorry for the delay! It looks like the log isn't detecting the window that you're trying to match. This could be due to the RDWeb window not generating a new window notification when it opens. If you change the Trigger rule to just matche mstsc.exe, with no other match conditions, does the window then move when it opens?

Hi Keith, I have had more pressing matters. I am back, it is to bad you can not accept an invite to view my screen. so I will attempt to explain in detail the process of RDWeb.
Step one. open a website hosted on the Windows server.
Step two. Click on an Icon which I believe executes a VB script which launches the program as a remote desktop session on your workstation. The program runs on the server.

Some how we need to capture this remote desk top session launched from the server.

Thanks Arne! I finally had a chance to setup an RDWeb test environment here, and it doesn't look like DisplayFusion can full manage the RDWeb windows. I was able to setup a Trigger rule to make it move to another monitor, or maximize, but it seems that the RDWeb windows don't accept the resize commands that we send to them. I've put this on our list to investigate further, and if we're able to improve the compatibility with RDWeb windows in the future, we'll definitely let you know.

Thanks!
