Hello, guys! I volunteer in the audiovisual department of a brazilian Adventist church. I need darken the second monitor (a projector to the public) with a keyboard shortcut, and the function developed by Malloch is perfect for both, except in one detail: need a gradual dimming to pure black.
I think it's a fairly simple modification, but don't know programming in C # or Visual Basic, just very basic things such as identify and change parameters. I wonder if someone could help me with this.
Well, the duration of the dimming to black would be 2 seconds.

When you cancel it, do you also want to gradual return to normal? (That is harder, btw.)

I submitted a script to Fade to black. You can edit a variable hidden in it to change the duration from two seconds to anything else.

Sorry, but not remembered to specify it ... :(
NetMage, I know it's difficult, but it is desirable that the gradual effect to be equal both ways. In the case of return, fading from black to normal.
Thank you very much for your time! If you can do more this code editing, perfect; if not, your script already helps a lot.

Sorry to revive the old thread, is it possible to make a Fade ALL monitors version of this? Again i think its a simple change but i wouldn't know where to start.

Thanks in advance.

That is (almost) an easy change. Hiding the mouse cursor turns out to be difficult, so I move it offscreen and move it back.

I submitted a new script, Fade All Monitors, which I have attached here.
