I have two monitors; screen 1 connected via HDMI and screen 2 via DisplayPort and my windows and icons are split over both screens.

However, if I turn off screen 2, all the windows and icons on that screen move to screen 1.

This has only happened since I started using the displayport connector on the second monitor.

Any ideas please?

DisplayPort monitors get detected as "disconnected" by Windows when they power off, so then Windows moves everything back to the monitor that's still powered on. Unfortunately that's not something that DisplayFusion can work around, so you'd need to switch back to using DVI or HDMI for the second monitor to avoid this behaviour.

Thanks!

I bit of an old thread.. so sorry for re-opening it.
I don't agree with the post above.
I've been annoyed by this for quite some time. I have like 30 windows/programs opened with a triple monitor setup. When I stop my monitors, they all move to the main monitor (or the last active monitor) and when I power the monitors back on, I need to move all those 30 windows/programs to their respective monitor.

I tested this without displayfusion and this did not happen, so it's displayfusion causing this and not Windows (10 in my case).

@delirium: If you disable the DisplayFusion multi-monitor taskbar on the second monitor, then try this out, do the windows stay put?
