Hi,
Despite several tries, I can't seem to make icons profils work (windows 10). I can save different profiles, showing different numbers of icons in the list, but when I try to switch to a profile nothing changes on the Desktop.
Do I miss something ?
Best Regards,
Renaud

Could it be that DisplayFusion only saves the icons layout (so you can have different layouts of the same list of icons), and not the actual icons ? I tried to save different sets of icons, to no avail.

Hi Renaud,

Strange, are you trying to load the profile through a key combination, the DisplayFusion Settings window, or the system tray?

Thanks!

Hi,
I tried several means, through the system tray menus (icons profiles/load profile), in the displayfusion settings, and with a desktop profile.

Hi Renaud,

If you right click and empty spot on your desktop, and head to "View", do you have "Auto Arrange Icons" enabled? If so, can you try disabling that and see if the icon profile works?

Thanks!

"Auto Arrange" was not active. When activating, DisplayFusion displays a warning when trying to load an icons profile.

I tried using the same icons with different layouts in different profiles, switching profile does update the layout on the desktop. What does not work is using different icons.

Windows version is windows 10 professional 20H2 build version 19042.985

Hi Renaud,

Ah, you are correct, the profile only saves the positions of the icons, not the icons themselves. To add to that, if you delete an icon and then load a profile, it won't bring the icon back either.

Thanks!
