Just purchased Pro for my TV wall (6x60" - 3 top 3 bottom) and can't get window positions to save or load. I'd like to ultimately reboot my PC, and these specific windows come up and position themselves correctly. It's 5 chrome windows, different sizes, and an application. Is this possible? Is there a definitive guide I haven't found? Please be specific with instructions ;) Thanks!

You'd need to do this with a Scripted Function that will run on startup. The Save/Restore Window Positions functions don't work across restarts, due to the window handles of the application windows changing.

Could you tell me which monitor ID the other application should be on? I'll do up a sample script for you :)

Ok, here you go!
  • On the DF Settings > Functions tab, click Add Scripted
  • Give it a name, delete the default code and paste in the code from the attached text file
  • Edit the list of websites near the top of the script, as well as the application path below the list of websites
  • Click OK, then Apply
  • On the Settings > Triggers tab, add a new Trigger, selecting "DisplayFusion Starts" as the Event, and then click Add > Run Function, and choose the function you created in step 2
  • Restart DisplayFusion and the function should run

Hope that helps!

That sounds promising and I certainly appreciate your help. I looked around for a minute before responding, I'm not seeing any attachments, though...

Sorry about that! It should be attached to my previous post now.

Keith you're killing it. I've been looking around the other forums and you're active, knowledgeable and super helpful.

Your script certainly worked populating all of my browsers. One issue is, I cannot get the window sizing or original placement of the windows to work. The sites open, but not on the screen I intended. I've tried messing around with the Save and Restore desktop windows scripts, but can't get those to work either.

I've read in an earlier thread the upon reboot, it's not possible to restore the placement/sizing. Is this still true?

I've attached a pic of what my setup would ideally be on reboot, or a hotkey, or loading a profile - whatever my option is. I'm a DF user for life now from the experience I've had so far!

Thanks for the kind words! The script should place the websites in order on the monitors, i.e. first site in the array will go to monitor 1, second to monitor 2, etc. So re-ordering the list of sites in the script should do the trick. Please let me know if you still have any trouble :)
