Would you just want them tiled at equal sizes to fill the screen? Or do you need to be able to specify different sizes/zones depending on the number of open windows?

It would be good to be able to specify different sizes/zones depending on the number of open windows.
Ok, thanks! There isn't currently a way to do this, but I've added your request to our feature request list. If it's something we're able to implement in a future version, we'll definitely let you know.

Thanks!
Please take a look at how i3-gaps does it on Linux, it does it really well.
Depending on the amount of windows open, it automatically tiles it depending on a set number of rules.
Yep! I attached a link to a YouTube video that demos i3-gaps to the feature request so that we can have a look at it if/when we're planning to implement it.
I am adding my vote to this feature. I found an app in windows for this: Plumb from Palatial Software. There is a nice video on youtube called "Vive le tiling sous Windows avec Plumb!" showing its possibilities. I loved that feature to auto tile windows when new opens and dynamic resize other when you resize only one of them.
Plumb has problems with windows like Spotify, Origin etc. probably these apps are all written in Electron (Chrome based desktop app).
If not for this little defect I would have used it instead of DisplayFusion. However, I believe that you can do it better in near future
