Hi,

I noticed this weird thing that if you right click an application that has been minimized to tray it will produce a black list without any readable items. Is this a bug or expected behavior?

Please find the video for the issue attached.

Thanks

Were those minimized using the DisplayFusion "Minimize Window to System Tray" function, or do they just natively have a system tray icon?

Hi Keith,

Both chrome & plex media player were minimized using DP's Minimize to Tray function.

In order to reproduce the issue, take any app for e.g. notepad and minimize it to tray via DP and then right click on it in tray to get the black context menu as in the video.

Thanks

HI Keith,

I just updated DF Pro to ver 9.1 beta 1, in which's change log it mentions the issue has been resolved. Kindly note that now you don't get any menu at all with the right click. Is this by design or the same bug manifesting in another way?

Thanks

That's definitely not expected! The menu works when we test here. Could you attach a debug log?
  • On the DisplayFusion Settings > Troubleshooting tab, change the Logging drop-down to "L1: Log Minimal" and click Apply
  • Reproduce the issue and note the time so we'll know where to check in the log file
  • Send us the DisplayFusion.log and DebugInfo.html files (can be found by clicking the Open Log button on the Troubleshooting tab)
  • Disable debug logging after sending the log

Hi Keith,

Sorry for the late reply. Got held up with couple of things. Please find the required files attached.

I set it to minimal, immediately reproduced the issue so I don't think you need the time. However, kindly note that I minimized two programs to tray: Notepad & File Explorer. Tried right clicking both of them and NO context menu popped up at all.

Thanks

No worries, thanks for the log! I was able to reproduce this here now as well (it only happens if you have 1 monitor enabled). We'll let you know as soon as we've gotten it all fixed up :)

We've just released a new DisplayFusion beta version and this issue should be all fixed up. Please let us know if you run into any trouble after updating.

Thanks!
