Hey guys, i was wondering how many wallpapers are indexed to be used with DF. Is there a limit on the number it will handle because i notice it will grab the most recent ones quickly. Does it work off of the last modified? 3200 pics in my collection, hence my curiosity.

They're actually not indexed, and there's no limit to the number of wallpapers. DisplayFusion just picks a random image from the folder, so it's just by chance that it's picking newer ones on your system :)

Just to add one thing, flclvr8780.

DisplayFusion does keep WallpaperHistory.db in C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\DisplayFusion that keeps track of which images it's shown to you before. I had the same issue where it kept showing new images only and it was because the file had grown to 50 megabytes or so and had pretty much all of the old files included in it. I closed DisplayFusion and deleted the WallpaperHistory.db file and after restarting DisplayFusion, everything went back to normal.

@Mike: Good catch! That makes sense, because DisplayFusion does keep a history of the images shown, and won't show them again until all images from the folder have been shown. So, if new images are always getting added before the list runs out, it won't ever clear the list.

Perhaps we should provide a way to clear the list manually. I'll add this to our list for further investigation.

Thanks!

I told John about this issue in the very early days but got the same answer: It's random. At least, now I know what to do to prevent this issue since I am adding new images quite often.

An (advanced) option to switch if I want to use this list or not would be an idea.

Regards,
Carsten

Hi guys, 4.2 Beta 2 is now available, and has an Advanced Settings ("Don't show image history") to disable the wallpaper history function.

Thanks!

We've just released a new DisplayFusion beta version and DisplayFusion will now purge old images from the history so that if new images are added faster than they're shown, you'll still get older images popping up at random. Please let us know if you run into any trouble after updating.

Thanks!
