A few days ago I upgraded to Windows 10, and the Logon Background setting stopped working.
Before Windows 10, I was using Windows 8.1 -- and the Logon Background setting did work.

Settings ---> Windows Logon
Both of the following Options are checked (selected) --
Allow DisplayFushion to manage the Windows Logon Background
Use the current Desktop Wallpaper image for the Windows Logon Background

The proper image is shown in the Settings area, but has never been reflected in the actual Windows Logon, since I upgraded to Windows 10.

My Desktop Wallpaper is randomly selected from the photos saved on My PC in several different folders.
My Windows Logon remains static (non changing) as what I assume is a standard Windows 10 screen.
I am using DisplayFusion Pro 7.3 .

Are you referring to the lock screen image (the one that shows before the password screen), or the background image on the password screen itself?

Let me just cancel/withdraw my comment above. I was confused about those multiple screens.

Ok, no problem! It looks like the latest Windows 10 preview build allows you to customize the image on the password prompt, so that will come in a stable Windows 10 upgrade eventually :)

Hi, just checking to see if I understand this. I can set the lock screen image in W10 Pro using DF 7.3.1, but not the login screen. So a future W10 release will allow me to change the login screen as well as the lock screen? Will DF also have a new feature that does this?

Help appreciated, thanks.

I thought that was the case, but it turns out it's only got an option for setting the current wallpaper as the background for the sign-in screen. We'll keep the feature request open for being able to set the sign-in screen manually :)

Thanks!

At the moment and I am using Windows 10 Build 10547 you have two options, use the SignIn Background or disable it leaving just a plain background which uses your theme colour.
In the screenshot you can see my theme colour is grey.

Can this be done without editing the registry or using other software?

I dont think so, not at the moment anyway.
The registry edit is quite easy if you take your time and look at what you are doing, and of course create a system recovery point.

I just got caught by this because the DF Settings does not differentiate between Lock and Logon screen on Windows 7 versus 10.

The Windows Logon option should perhaps have a warning that on Windows 10 it is the Lock Screen that is changed, not the Logon screen. Also, perhaps the Windows 10 section could have a checkbox for using the Desktop wallpaper as the Lock Screen background?

@NetMage: Both are great suggestions. I think we will rename the feature to "Windows Lock Screen" and then add a toggle for that option to show it on the sign-in screen :)

Any updates on this fix? It's been a while since anyone posted on this issue. I too would like to get this working for me.

I think it's working now. I'm using DF Pro 8.1.1 and Windows 10 Build 1607. Just now it was showing random images in the login/lock screens. Then I went to DF:Settings/Windows Logon and checked "Allow DF to manage Windows Logon..." It works in both the login screen and the lock screen.

Nope, not working for me. I have DisplayFusion Pro 8.1.2 with Windows10 and just checked for updates. Not working. Wish it was.

@Oscar: What specifically isn't working?

I open the settings, click on Windows Logon, only one monitor is represented and it's centered. I can't get my dual monitor to work, only the primary monitor works with half of the image when trying to logon to computer.

Unprotect the image so everybody can see it, unless of course you only want the DF team to see it.

Done, unprotected.

Now I understand.
That is because you can only have one logon screen which is the primary screen. If you close down DF and log out of Windows you will see that you can only logon from one screen, it is a limitation of Windows.
