I have been collecting these for quite some time now. Life steamrolled me, so I never got them to you. :( Note that since I have been adding to this for several months, it may contain duplicate entries.

I have no idea if these findings are still valid in the latest betas (although I have been using them). I can say for certain that with the build prior to the just released 9.8.x beta, I am still having many VERY productivity-sapping problems with mouse jumps when the mouse moves off the edges of my laptop 1:1 centered over 49" 2:1/2/3 screens (with wrap on). Same with my 1:1 centered left of portrait 27" 1440p 2:1/2 setup (note that I also have a laptop 1:1 bottom, 27" portrait 2:1/2 centered top setup for some situations). If the mouse leaves an edge in a direction, changes direction and returns to where it should enter the just-left monitor, it should enter said monitor, and in a spot exactly matching where it would be if it had travelled on a 'virtual monitor' off the edge (even if it momentarily popped up on another monitor). This is the biggest issue I have with DF. Hmm, maybe not - the lack of "full screen" capability for RDP and VMs (I use VMWare Workstation constantly to get into client systems) on split monitors is actually more important.

1) If you open Settings, change nothing, and click Apply, DF redoes all taskbars, so clearly it is doing something when it should do nothing. Similarly, if you click Apply and then change nothing and then click OK, DF redoes things again. It is programatically simple to track if a change is made in a dialog box and do nothing if nothing changes.

2) If you have DisplayFusion open and attempt to load an icon profile, the confirmation dialog displays behind the DisplayFusion app. ALL confirmation dialogs should be "ON TOP" when they open.

3) I have some crash dumps available if you want them.

4) With monitor 1 below monitor 2.2, cannot size app window to vertical height or 2.x. Window does seem to 'catch' on the bottom of 2.2 though.

5) If I move a full-monitor window from 2.1 to 2.2 (which is set to go full-screen), it highlights the screen and shows the number. If I move it back to 2.1 without releasing it, it does not highlight 2.1, nor does it resize to full-monitor.

6) Mouse Wrap
a) Make it a per-monitor setting. I don't want mouse wrap on a non-split monitor.
b) I have a 2:1/2/3 on top of 1:1 setting. When I drop the mouse down (accidentally, on the left side, when going to bottom of 2:2 screen) and immediately bring it right back up to 2:2, it often comes up over on the right side of the screen.

7) MACRO PLAYBACK IN TextPad when moved behind another app while running to end of file!! Repeatable.

8) I have Amazon Music on 2:1. The drop-down from the taskbar icon does not show the audio controls icons. Those are only on the main 2:2 main window.

9) I recently enabled the setting seen in the image. Since then, clicking Windows Start button or Windows Key results in the start menu popping up at different locations (and staying there rarely but other times immediately blipping over to the window where I clicked the start menu) and sometimes not popping up at all.

10) When clicking icon in task bar tray that has a popup, it will show at a different location if you move the mouse away quickly.

11) Consider a screen setup of 1:1 (laptop, 2048X1152 centered to the left of), 2:1 (4K external monitor), with Mouse Wrap. When I move the mouse to the left past the edge of the 2:1 screen ABOVE OR BELOW the area where the 1:1 monitor butts up to the 2:1 monitor, the mouse continues off-screen to the left and appears on the 2:1 screen on the right-hand side as expected. The problem is that if you now move the mouse back to the right the mouse blips over to the left edge of the 1:1 monitor instead of reappearing on the left edge of the 2:1 monitor. This is both annoying and a significant productivity hit.

The simple and most important fix is to just correct this bug. The BETTER fix, IMHO, is to offer the option to have the a constrained mouse wrap, both vertically AND horizontally. When the mouse is not aligned to a point where it actually SHOULD flow to the next monitor in the arrangement it does not wrap at all but stays at the edge of the curtent monitor. If it is aligned such that it would flow to the next monitor then it does. THAT is the feature I really want.

12) Outlook Reminders wound up stuck behind task bar and I had to use the shift-click method to Move it to where I could access its top menu. This happened when I used a center mouse click DF shortcut to send it to the screen as you see it. See image in Snagit.

Similar thing occured with Citrix remoted desktop as well (see image)

In both cases the Toolbar was indeed on front and a click there activated whatever was on the toolbar. In the case of Citrix I could no longer get the session out of full screen to move it badk to the other monitor. :-(

13) Delay in seeing tabs to pick from when Alt-Tab switching screens on 2:1, 1:1 4K/Laptop configuration. They are set to show text and on all screens. If this information were cached it should be instantaneous to display.

14) When changing monitor profiles via right-mouse click on DF task bar icon, you pop up a "Do you want to keep this profile" dialog before the monitor reconfiguration process is complete. I'm actually not sure it waits at all, and certainly not long enough for my reconfig to finish.

15) Win-Shift-left/right arrows do not cycle apps to monitors as configured by DF. It swaps them on literal monitors. It also does not ensure that a maximized window is maximized if you return it to the initial window it came from. Test all permutations of this for other such issues.

16) Middle-Clicking app header bar to cycle app through DF-configured monitors works correctly. SHIFT-Middle-Clicking does not. Instead of going leftwards one monitor it maximizes to the entire physical monitor.

17) Doing a quick alt-tab, it takes two FULL SECONDS for each monitor to paint the list of open apps (on all windows, the current setting), during which time I can take no action in the app I switched to. This is way way too long. Isn't it cached?

18) When dialogs that open are brought to the monitor they were opened from, they open elsewhere first and then are moved. If you also have the windows option to place the mouse on the primary button of the dialog, the mouse stays in its location on the other monitor and does not follow the dialog that is moved by DF

19) Shift-Alt-Win-Up Arrow does not honor monitor splits when maximizing window

20) File Save Dialog boxes in SnagIt Editor no longer honor ESC key to cancel/close.

21) Pulling a browser tab out of Firefox on monitor 1 to monitor 2:2 failed repeatedly. It would just stay in firefox after mouse release. Dropping to 2:1 worked. 1=laptop left centered, 2:1 and 2:2 are stacked on portrait 27" 1440X2560 on right. Pulling the entire firefox app over works fine to both (and maximizes as expected). note that I don't know that this is still the case.

22) Placing mouse over icons in DF task bar on non-primary split monitors does not cause the normal popup so you can close them to appear. This is likely the same issue as to why Amazon Music player doesn't present the controls popup.

23) When applying a new monitor profile, the "do you want to keep this change" dialog pops up WAY before my reconfiguration has completed (which seems to take a long time, 20ish seconds maybe?)

24) Moving a window to another monitor should set it at the same position and/or maximized/minimized state on the new monitor (with scaling taken into account), unless some DF setting has overridden that directive.

25) Allow non-full-screen window move if you hold the shift key AFTER you start moving a windows to another monitor. VERY helpful for the (many) times I forget to hold shift FIRST!

I will be happy to work directly with a dev to troubleshoot, reproduce, provide log files, procmon output, etc. I REALLY want DF to be more functional FOR ME, and I have the technical experience to help you achieve MY goal. The good news is that my goal and yours undoubtedly align. 8)

I'm sorry I haven't gotten back to you on this. Life has been . . . difficult. :(

I may have identified a possible cause of one issue though. I currently have Windows Taskbar set to autohide. Now when I open apps that open on non-windows taskbar screens (in my 1:1, 2:1/2/3 setup), the app title bar goes to the very top of the screen BEHIND the DF taskbar.

I hope this helps nail down one issue!

Hello,

Is this while your DisplayFusion taskbar is set to auto-hide as well?

Thanks!

Hello,

The issue with confirmation boxes appearing behind windows should be fixed up in our latest beta, available here: https://www.displayfusion.com/Download/Beta. Please let me know if you still run into any trouble after updating.

Thanks!

I concur on the following ones that I think are detrimental to my workflow. Note that I don't have more than one monitor now, so many of the use cases in the OP aren't applicable to me and therefore I can't comment on them:
I will start by adding the point that I came here to "solve" which is how full screen apps (VLC, Youtube player) etc work with DF and virtual monitors. Or rather don't. But that point is beaten to death, since 2014, here:
https://www.displayfusion.com/Discussions/View/fullscreen-video-in-split-window/?ID=58d293bf-a1fe-4b2a-be82-c770407005d5
.
In the list below, #5 and #24 are the two most detrimental ones.
.
5/ If I move a full-monitor window from 2.1 to 2.2 (which is set to go full-screen), it highlights the screen and shows the number. If I move it back to 2.1 without releasing it, it does not highlight 2.1, nor does it resize to full-monitor.
--Oh yes. Very big problem. Horrible in the workflow.
.
15/ Win-Shift-left/right arrows do not cycle apps to monitors as configured by DF. It swaps them on literal monitors. It also does not ensure that a maximized window is maximized if you return it to the initial window it came from. Test all permutations of this for other such issues.
--Yup, concur.
.
16/ Middle-Clicking app header bar to cycle app through DF-configured monitors works correctly. SHIFT-Middle-Clicking does not. Instead of going leftwards one monitor it maximizes to the entire physical monitor.
--I don't use this, but it's annoying when I test it. Ties in to #15
.
19/ Shift-Alt-Win-Up Arrow does not honor monitor splits when maximizing window
--Yup, again
.
21/ Pulling a browser tab out of Firefox on monitor 1 to monitor 2:2 failed repeatedly.
--This is a bug I've seen for some time. It happens some of the time. The solution for me has been to click between tabs in Firefox and try again at which time it works. I have not attributed this to DF, but I haven't run my system without DF for 10 years so I don't know if it's Firefox or DF.
.
24/ Moving a window to another monitor should set it at the same position and/or maximized/minimized state on the new monitor (with scaling taken into account), unless some DF setting has overridden that directive.
--Oh boy yes! This is a big one. I've just leaned you can force the desired behavior holding down Shift. But that should be inverted. The default behavior should always be to maintain aspect ratio of the window. Shift can be given as an option to maximize.

Hello,

5) This was intended, as we only track the monitor the window originated on, and didn't want the window to re-maximize if you're just trying to move it around on the same monitor. I've created a feature request for us to track if it has left the monitor, and returned.

21) I've seen this before, but I can't seem to reproduce it. Could you send me over a video of the issue?

I've added your vote to the other issues as well :)

Thanks!
