Hi! i really like the software. it does most of the things I want from it. i do miss a mac like expose feature or the feature in linux compiz where you can gather all the windows onto the respective screen that it belongs to so you can instantly jump to the window you want.

a link to what i'm on about is here:

I've added this to our feature request list and we'll be sure to post an update if we're able to implement it in the future.

Thanks!

@ engineersthumb

Interesting request. Seems like a natural fit for DF.
Question is if development cost and time will drive up the price of DF.

As you may (or may not) know, in the past few years there have been several attempts made to bring
the Exposé functionality to Windows.

You could have this function right now ,but outside DF.
I collected a few links during that time and have attached a text file you could explore.
One of the paid-for ones - Better Desktop Tool -has a promotion until the end of Feb 2013 (see attachment)

Have fun :)

Pete.

thanks for the list. having a look at it and saw some ones i hadn't looked at. i've already tried some of these such as dexpot and DExpose2, but i found these too slow or buggy.

i'll have a look at some of the others you mentioned, but i ideally i'd prefer having fewer programs that are optimized to do more tasks efficiently, than increase the resource overhead with multiple progs doing different things. : ) it would be ideal for me if display fusion did all these window manager functions (like expose and multiple desktops) as these features have a tendency not to play nice with other programs unless they are integrated together like in compiz.

for e.g. i'm running virtuawin right now, but there is a massive clash in the wallpaper settings between this and displayfusion. i can't have the option of a different wallpaper on each desktop that is maximised across four monitors.

best regards,
ET

You're welcome. Yes ,from all the comments I've read about the various programs that I listed ,Switcher seems to be a favorite.
However ,some of the others may well work satisfactorily in a less demanding monitor setup.

Just as an aside, there's always the danger in adding many features to an existing program which might make it too bloated.
Certain features may be requested that may not be used by the majority of the users.
Some features may require extensive recoding. Then the developer has to decide whether or not to implement those features
and whether the cost/benefit ratio will fit the sales price or necessitates an increase, which might make it less attractive.
Many sides to this seemingly simple request :)
