I just switched from running 3 1080p monitors (without DF) to running a single 4K 55" monitor (TV). I have everything organized with DF just how I like it, but every time I turn off the monitor and turn it back on or it goes into screen saver, my desktop is messed up. I just want this to WORK automatically without having to set up triggers and run scripts and do manual work arounds. If windows are in wrong places and I do windows restore position, only a few windows get fixed. Am I missing something? Thanks.

There isn't just a standalone option you can enable to automatically save/restore the positions, because each system is different, so might need to be tweaked accordingly to make it work. The Triggers are usually the best way to set this up. Have you already tried out the steps in this guide?

thanks i did read that thread which is how i knew about the triggers and events solution. i just don't have the energy, the steps in that solution should somehow be baked into a checkbox type option. my technical life is already complicated enough between my IT architecture work, smarthome stuff, kids, fixing home theater stuff the family seems to break on a daily basis. i'm not mentally able to wrap my head around another task that may work, may not, will need troubleshooting, etc. when i restore window position after the screen powers back on, it only places 4 screens into the correct location out of 8. zero interest in troubleshooting, i'd rather pay a premium for something that just works. not sure if the competitor products are in a similar boat, but i'll be looking at those when i can find some time. appreciate the response.

Ok, no worries. We'll be sure to follow-up if we're able to make it a single-option type of feature.

Thanks!

To follow up on this, I emailed DT to see if Ultraview had an elegant solution and they gave me a workaround that should also work for DF. I'm ordering this today and hopefully it will solve the problem. It makes the windows driver think the display is still connected even when it's powered off.

FYI this works ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANTLY!!!!!! Shut off and turn on my TV at will and everything is right where I left it. I just ordered a 2nd one for my work laptop which uses a different HDMI input.
