I had my DF setup in such a way that when I switched between Desktop 1 and Desktop 2, My primary monitor would switch to the second desktop, but the apps that were open on my second monitor would always appear on monitor 2 regardless of whether or not I switched between Desktop 1 and 2 on my primary monitor.

I had to reinstall windows recently and I can no longer reproduce this. I had this working as recently as a few days ago. Anybody know how to accomplish this?

You can save different monitor profiles, then use window position profiles to do this. Just save 2 different monitors profiles, one for each state. Then you can save your window positions and assign the profiles to each monitor profile. Alternatively, you can create a function that will "Move all windows to monitor #X" and use this hotkey to quickly move everything between monitors. Thanks!

Hm, sounds complicated. I'm not sure what most of those features are. I wonder why it just worked the first time around.

I'm looking at triggers events and actions and its not very clear how I could accomplish this.

Looks like the answer is to enable multi monitor taskbars and disable windows taskbar when prompted.

Ah yep, that's actually technically a bug that Windows surfaces when a program's taskbar button is removed from the Windows taskbar. It also unregisters it from Task View and Virtual Desktops :)

Oh no, don't tell me that. This is the epitome of "It's not a bug, it's a feature" for me. Being able to have a persistent second monitor while multi-tasking on a primary monitor.

Haha, yeah, reminds me of this: https://xkcd.com/1172/

We may end up keeping the current bug as an option when we're eventually able to fix it, as you're not the first person to ask for that :)
