Is it possible to create a configuration that will apply to everyone who logs into the workstation?

Some of the settings can be configured for all users, but others are per-user only. If you could list the specific settings that you've changed from the default configuration, I'll be able to let you know which ones can be configured for all users.

Thanks!

I have a group of people who work shift and rotate between different workstations. To individually setup and maintain 6 users on 5 different workstations is not practical. Initially I have defined a set of Monitor Profiles, a Taskbar configuration, Window Snapping and functions (move to next, span all, etc.)

Ok, most of those settings are per-user only. However, are you able to setup login scripts for the users? If so, you can export the DisplayFusion settings to a .reg file using the "Backup Settings" button on the Options tab. Then, just add a login script that imports the .reg file when the user logs in.

If you need more instructions on how to do the above, or have any follow-up questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Thanks!

Hi Keith - Can you please advise how can that script be written to import the settings to every user. My Requirement is that i should be able to install display fusion and then do the settings from the admin account and then when any other user logs in to the workstation , they should have same settings at i have set from the admin account.

My requirement s only for the below three things :

1. Using one image on the main desktop
2. Using one color background to the extended screen
4. The Task bar shouldnt show in the extended screen.

Keith - i did the steps and then created a new windows user and then logged in using it but nothing happened. the same windows default windows wallpaper is running. Nothing changed.

What could be the reason and how will i know if the script has executed or not ? Secondly pls note that the user is a limited user and not an admin.

Pls advise.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that in your initial config that you create in step 1, make sure to enable the two settings shown in the attached screenshot. That will force DF to re-apply the wallpaper on login. Note that there's a few minutes delay before the wallpaper will be re-applied. It's ok if the user is a standard non-admin user, I tested with that setup here too :)

Also make sure that DF is actually starting up for that user. If you import the attached .reg file (only need to do it once), then DF will startup for all users on the system, even new ones created in the future.

I'm going to step in here and say that you need to be more patient. Support cases are dealt with on a first-come-first serve basis, and Keith is doing his best to manage your request, while juggling dozens of other requests at the same time. If you would like to discuss purchasing a support contract with a priority response time please contact me at sales@displayfusion.com.

Ok, I had made a mistake in step 2 in the guide. I've updated it with the proper command, which should be:

Code

"C:\Program Files (x86)\DisplayFusion\DisplayFusionCommand.exe" -settingsbackup C:\LogonScripts\DFSettings.reg

The wallpaper auto-fix options in my previous screenshot are Pro only features, and the DisplayFusionCommand.exe is also a Pro only feature. Please let me know if you need me to send over a 30-day trial key.

You can configure the wallpaper delay on startup using the DisplayFusion Settings > Advanced Settings > Wallpaper > Startup Change Delay option. The default is 30 seconds.

To check and see if the script applied correctly, open regedit on the new user account, you can just open up the DisplayFusion wallpaper window to see if it's configured with the settings from your other account.

Please let me know if you have any further questions :)

Thanks!

I had written you the requirement that I want to achieve of background changing. After 30 days that functionality will go?

Ok, just sent it, you should receive the email shortly with the key, and instructions on how to enter it. You're correct, the features that you require are in the Pro version only. Also note, that the Free version is for personal use only, and not for use on company/corporate machines.

Ok thanks for the information. Ok first time when we install in any machine , its free for 30 days right?

Secondly how mcuh does one machine license cost ? I am looking for 60 to 70 machines so what do you suggest me?
Jun 27, 2014  • #24
Keith Lammers (BFS)'s profile on WallpaperFusion.com
Yep! On first install, DisplayFusion starts with a fully functional 30-day trial. Are all the machines at the same location? If so, the best license for that many machines is the DisplayFusion Pro Site License. Details on the various license types can be found here: http://www.displayfusion.com/Purchase/. All Pro licenses have the same feature set, the difference is just in the licensing terms (number of machines, locations, etc).

Just tested your settings out here, and they load for me on my test system. Can you also attach the ImportDFSettings.bat file from step 3, as well as a screenshot of the Logon script settings from step 7 in the guide?

I'm heading out soon, but will check them out first thing Monday morning.

Thanks!

Hi keith what do i need to pass to the display command exe file for opening the wallpaper settings form.
Jun 28, 2014  • #29
Keith Lammers (BFS)'s profile on WallpaperFusion.com
The batch file looks good. Could you also attach a screenshot of the Logon Script settings from step 7 in the guide? Also, I've attached an updated batch file that will create a file called "itworks.txt" on the desktop. That will tell you whether the batch file is even running at all :)

The command line parameters are explained here: http://www.displayfusion.com/KB/CommandLine. The one you're looking for is: DisplayFusionCommand.exe -windowwallpaper

Hi, sorry to resurrect such an old topic but I too am in need of this guide.
Unfortunately, the link appears to cycle the main discussion page and not really redirect anywhere.

Does anyone have these instructions?

Appreciate it and TIA!!!
