So I had my laptop disconnected from my dock because I was traveling for work and I discovered that there are certain applications that will not allow me to maximize or minimize with the buttons in the top right corner of the window. There are some windows that work fine like File Explorer windows, but the majority will not let me maximize or minimize or even close with the buttons in the top right.

To troubleshoot, I disabled my DisplayFusion service and I killed all three DisplayFusion processes that were running. Once those were all killed, then my Minimize/Maximize/Close buttons all worked as expected.

I will also say that I can have just one additional monitor plugged in and everything works as expected with multiple monitors or a dock. It only seems to be when it's my laptop all by itself that those buttons don't work.

Can anyone else confirm they've seen the same thing?

That's a strange one! Could you send us a debug log for this?

  • On the DisplayFusion Settings > Troubleshooting tab, change the Logging drop-down to "L1: Log Minimal" and click Apply
  • Reproduce the issue and note the time so we'll know where to check in the log file
  • Click the "Export Info to File" button on the Settings > Troubleshooting tab
  • Reply with the file attached
  • Disable debug logging after sending the log
