I updated from DisplayFusion 5.1.1 Beta 5 to Beta 6 yesterday and have lost the ability to maximize windows to a virtual split monitor. I have the Window Managment option checked. I have rebooted since updating, but still have the problem. If you could offer any advice that would be great. Thanks!

The maximize locking is definitely broken in Beta 6. We'll have it fixed for B7, but in the meantime, here's the link for B5 :)

We've just released a new DisplayFusion beta version (http://www.displayfusion.com/Download/Beta/) and this issue should be all fixed up. Please let us know if you run into any trouble after updating.

Thanks!

Sorry if this issue is in another thread, but everytime I search, it says there are over 100 threads with those keywords, and I have been unable to find the exact solution to my problem.

I have a quad monitor setup, 3x24" in landscape, and 1x19" above the middle monitor. I have Nvidia Surround setup with the 3x24" (5760x1080).

Basically I want to be able to double click a window and have it maximize only in the monitor it's located in. Right now it maximizes across the 3 monitors.

I'm using DF 5.1 beta 12, and I've split the triple monitors into 3 virtual screens. Individual screen savers and wallpapers work fine. But maximizing to each window is not working. I can't seem to find which setting enables this function.

Help? Thanks in advance.

@GMGQ23: Could you try updating to the latest 6.0 Beta? The one you're running is old and didn't have the complete splitting code implemented in it yet :)

ok I just installed the latest 6.0 Beta 2, and when I go to Monitor Configuration, both the Horizontal Split and Vertical Split drop downs are greyed out.

Strange! Does it still say DisplayFusion Pro in the titlebar?

oops, it was on Free license. I've since inputted my license and back to Pro version.

I noticed where was a popup hidden behind some windows that said there was an Nvidia app that might cause problems, DF asked if it could disable it. I said OK. Then I rebooted.

Maximizing to each virtual window works now! -- Thanks.

Hi Keith,

Sorry to bring this topic back to the top, but I'm having an issue with Maximizing on the triple monitors again.

It's ok when I log in as myself, but my wife just started using the computer so I set her up as another user on the computer. After she logs in, windows maximize across all 3 monitors.

The DF monitor config shows the 5760x1080 screen is auto split for Nvidia surround setup. I tried also setting the horizontal split to 3, but that didn't make a difference.

I tried to uninstall, and re-install DF, but that didn't fix the problem. I confirmed that my license key is correct, and it's the latest 6.0 beta.

Please advise?? Thanks.

(as a side note, as per my other thread, her Start Menu also pops up on the far left monitor, even though the taskbar is on the center monitor)

OK, I just checked my own login and it appears window maximizing within each screen isn't working for me either.

The weird thing is that only ONE program appears to be maximizing within only the left screen (eM Client for my email). If I double click the title of the window, it will maximize across the 3 screens. But if I click on the Maximize icon at the top right, it will maximize within the left screen. If I manually move the window to the middle or right screens and press the maximize icon, it will maximize across the 3 screens.

This is becoming very frustrating... :(

OK interesting...

So i opened up the Nvidia Control Panel, went to Desktop > Surround Displays > Maximize Windows Across All Displays. This was originally UNCHECKED. I just CHECKED it, and the DF maximizing within each screen is working now??

By enabling that setting in Nvidia, shouldn't the opposite happen? Shouldn't windows maximize across all 3 screens?

Not that i'm complaining, now I'm able to maximize each window within each specific screen. But it just seems backwards to me.

Also, the taskbar and start window are both on the center screen now, which is what I want...

It's a bit confusing, but what happens is, when that option is enabled, NVIDIA doesn't hook the maximizing any more, but DisplayFusion handles maximizing to the splits :)

Though I'm not sure why it didn't work when it was disabled, because the NVIDIA hooks should have been handling it, but at any rate, I'm glad to hear it's working now!
