With the latest beta, using the metro apps on desktop feature; the window itself behaves properly, and can be behind other windows, however the contents seem to be 'always on top', also im wondering if a feature to automatically open metro apps in this state is in the works. I already use modern mix, but once your solution matures, i would gladly dump it, as i'm not a fan of stardock's in general
Which DF beta are you currently on? In 5.1 B17, I can't seem to get the Send to Desktop Window to work at all, just want to see if you're running into the same trouble.
Scratch my previous post, I got it working on my test system here, but haven't run into any issues with the metro apps staying on top. Does this only happen with specific metro apps?

It was on whichever beta was latest at time of post, the issue seems to have resolved itself now with the current latest beta
