I want to report a problem with the DisplayFusion (DF) titlebar buttons in the Microsoft 365 Outlook desktop application. We just switched to 365 a couple weeks ago at work and are now using Outlook. There are two (2) problems:
- The DF titlebar buttons are positioned too far left in the application window
- The DF titlebar buttons in message windows overlap (obscures) the titlebar text of the window, because it is positioned too far left.
Resizing the app and message windows and disabling/re-enabling the DF titlebar buttons don't help.
See screenshot attached.

Hello,
If you open up the DisplayFusion Advanced Settings window, you can adjust the "Button Offset: Horizontal/Vertical" setting, under the TitleBar Buttons section.
Thanks!

Ok, I tried that. But now we have another problem... Outlook is okay, but the DF titlebar buttons now overlap the window titelbar buttons everywhere else. This won't help me.
Is there any way in DF to customize the location of the titlebar buttons for each separate application, right?
I'm pretty much stuck in (1) display or hide titlebar buttons for an app, and (2) either shift, or leave the position in its default location across Windows.
Or, is there a possible fix for this?

Hello,
Ah, if you open up the DisplayFusion Settings window and head to the Compatibility tab, you can add in specific applications and adjust the "Normal TitleBar Button Offset" and "Maximized TitleBar Button Offset" settings, rather then adjusting it globally in the advanced settings.
Thanks!

Hi Owen, your suggestion to make changes "in the Compatibility tab & add in specific applications and adjust the "Normal TitleBar Button Offset" and "Maximized TitleBar Button Offset" settings" is a great suggestion and I tried to do the same for the New Teams Desktop Client but it makes no difference to the position of the buttons at all. Please see the screenshots of the settings I changed and the application itself. Please advise what mistake I am making. Thanks in advance.

Could you send me the path you added to the compatibility list?

Thanks for sending that over, I tested it out on my end and it seemed to work fine. It doesn't look like the screenshot of the settings you adjusted in the compatibility tab got attached, could you resend that?

Strange, I set the titlebar button positions in both the classic and new Teams apps and both work fine. Maybe it depends on the computer or Windows version? I'm still using Windows 10 (current version).
Some apps like Microsoft Access and Visio are harder to control. I'm also having difficulty with the Microsoft Edge browser, which doesn't seem to behave, regardless of what settings I choose to position the titlebar buttons.

Thanks, rupertsland - I am using Windows 10 as well (OS Build: 19045.3693). My PC (Surface Laptop Studio 2) is connected to 3 external Dell Monitors (P2418D) using DisplayPort. I am having issue only with Teams app - Microsoft Edge browser works fine (screenshot included).

Did you use the window picker to automatically grab the app path? I wonder if it's running from C:\Users\(YourUser)\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Teams\current\Teams.exe

Hi Owen, U R right - I had used the window picker to automatically grab the app path. However, I changed it to the path U advised below (C:\Users\(YourUser)\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Teams\current\Teams.exe)
but there is no improvement and does not fix the issue.

Thanks, Owen - here is the troubleshooting info

Try setting "*ms-teams.exe" as the application path in the compatibility rule, that should grab it no matter where it's being run from.
Also make sure you have the "Normal TitleBar Button Offset" value set as well, if you don't already.
Thanks!

Thanks, Owen - I did as advised but no change in Teams.
I'm pretty stumped here! The only difference I can see is I'm running a slightly newer version of Teams (23306.3309.2530.1346), are you able to update and see if that makes any difference?

Hi Owen, here is the info on the version I am using:
About Teams
Version
You have Microsoft Teams version 23285.3607.2525.937.
You've got the latest version. It was last updated on 11/28/2023.
The client version is 49/23101227712.
Would it be possible for U to share your setting - I can replicate it at my end to see if it solves the problem?
This is my app path: C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\MSTeams_23285.3607.2525.937_x86__8wekyb3d8bbwe\ms-teams.exe
and I just have all the titlebar offset settings set to "50"
