I'm using the multi-monitor taskbar on my work machine to support two monitors. When I work from home, I VPN and remote desktop into my work machine. What I've noticed is when I get back to work the next day, some of my application windows that were maximized on the secondary monitor no longer appear in either taskbar when I log back in. I can only access them through Alt-tab, and to restore the taskbar item, I have to un-maximize the window, then drag it back to the primary monitor. Once it's on the primary monitor, I can drag it back to the secondary monitor again and the DisplayFusion taskbar picks it up again. I've noticed this in particular for Firefox; not sure about other applications.

Rough repro steps:
1) On work machine, open maximized Firefox windows on both the primary and secondary monitors
2) Lock work machine
3) Remote desktop to work machine from home machine. Remote desktop is only one monitor, so all taskbar items appear there
4) Not sure if it's important, but I don't interact at all with Firefox in the remote session (I use Firefox on my home machine instead)
5) Terminate the remote session
6) Log in to work machine again. Firefox application windows on the secondary monitor are not shown in the taskbar.

Work machine specs:
Windows 7 Professional SP1
DisplayFusion Pro 4.0.1
Firefox 14.0.1

Home machine specs:
Windows Vista Business
Remote Desktop 6.0.6002

I believe we've actually fixed this issue up in 4.1 Beta 11. Could you give it a try from the link below and let me know how it works out?

Thanks!

Firefox is sort of working now - when I logged back in, all of the windows were on the primary monitor, even if they had been on the secondary monitor before. This is acceptable, since I can easily move them back over as needed.

However, I did still have a problem with a Skype window. When I alt-tabbed to it, it was on the primary monitor, but it didn't have a taskbar item. I had to drag it to the secondary monitor then back to the primary monitor to fix it. I can't remember for sure, but I think it was on the secondary monitor when I logged out.

Skype version: 5.10.0.115

Ok, thanks for the update! Was the Skype window the only one that was affected? We've found another similar bug, but it only seems to affect certain programs.

Skype is the only program I noticed the problem with after the last time I used RD, but I've only used it the one time recently. I'll try to find the time to test it out more actively so I can say with more certainty which programs are/aren't affected.

Possibly worth noting - the Skype window wasn't maximized, so that doesn't appear to be a key factor.
