Hi. I have a problem whereby when I close my laptop lid my TV becomes monitor 1. I already have the setting 'Do Nothing' selected for when I close the lid. This worked fine on my old laptop but on my new laptop it is as though Windows ceases to recognise the existence of my laptop monitor and moves everything to the TV.

I got Displayfusion for my desktop today to fix a separate issue (which worked). I wondered if it could help with this issue with my laptop? No option is jumping out at me but if someone can suggest something I'd really appreciate it. Cheers.

Hello,

When you close the lid, if you open up the Windows Display settings, is your laptop listed at all?

Thanks!

Thanks for the response. No, the laptop monitor is not detected anymore after closing the lid.

Hello,

Strange! Could you send me over a debug log? Here are the steps:

  • On the DisplayFusion Settings > Troubleshooting tab, change the Logging drop-down to "L1: Log Minimal" and click Apply
  • Reproduce the issue and note the time so we'll know where to check in the log file
  • Click the "Export Info to File" button on the Settings > Troubleshooting tab
  • Reply with the file attached
  • Disable debug logging after sending the log

Could you also send me over a screenshot of your current power settings?

Thanks!

Thanks for your help. I managed to find a solution a few minutes ago. Turns out changing the 'acpi lid' driver to microsoft volume manager is the fix! Was starting to lose hope then stumbled upon that fix in an old thread somewhere.
