As a web developer, I sometimes rip a tab off of maximized Chrome browser on my left monitor to bring it over to my right monitor. Displayfusion is doing something funky and it was bugging me because when I dropped the ripped Chrome Browser tab onto the 2nd right monitor, it would bring _all_ of the Chrome browsers over to the right monitor and I'd have to drag the other Chrome browser back to the left monitor again.

In the settings panel, there's a tab called "Window Management" the 1st setting "Enable maximized window dragging between monitors" is checked. If you uncheck the option below, "Show Monitor selector while dragging", Chrome works again as intended. As long as that is checked, Chrome will keep doing what it's doing due to displayfusion not doing something properly.

Hope I'm explaining this correctly. I'm on Windows 7.

This actually should be all fixed up in 3.4.1 Beta 6, could you give it a try when you have a chance?

Thanks!

I've downloaded 3.4.1 Beta 6, It's no longer doing what I said, however... with "Show monitor selector while dragging" checked, it's no longer displaying the big 1 or 2 like it used to either. So, is the check box irrelevant now? or am I not understanding what a "monitor selector" is?

btw, awesome product. I've referred it to 2-3 friends already and my OCD thanks you. :)

FYI, I noticed that if the window isn't fully maximized that the numbers 1 or 2 show up on the screen. If the browser is fully maximized, the numbers doesn't show up.

Sorry for the late response! Does this issue still occur in 3.4.1 Beta 9?

I saw it working in Beta 9, but it appears to not be working in Beta 10. To clarify, I'm talking about the "Show monitor selector while dragging" option the large number 1 and 2 are gone from the screen now. Everything else is working properly.

Is it gone for all windows? Or only certain ones? It seems to be working ok for me...

hi guys,

Todd, I'll borrow your description :)
As a web developer, I sometimes rip a tab off of maximized Chrome browser on my left monitor to bring it over to my right monitor. Displayfusion is doing something funky and it was bugging me because when I dropped the ripped Chrome Browser tab onto the 2nd right monitor, it would bring _all_ of the Chrome browsers over to the right monitor and I'd have to drag the other Chrome browser back to the left monitor again.

exactly this behavior I am experiencing with Beta 14, though the hack with disabling "Show Monitor selector while dragging" doesn't work for me. Scenario to reproduce it is easy, just open chrome, maximize it on screen 1, open 5 tabs, try to drag one tab to the screen 2. What happens is, that a new chrome window will appear in screen 2 with the tab which was dragged and on top of it (still on screen 2) are remaining 4 tabs.
This very scenario works with firefox ok, any hints?

Which version of Chrome are you using? I'm using the nightly builds and not seeing this behaviour, but I'd like to test it out with whatever version you're running.

Thanks!

well, good news first - I've updated chrome lately and the issue disappeared! now I'm running 16.0.912.63 (portable version)

I'm sorry but now I don't know what I was running before...

No worries, glad to hear it's working now. Just let me know if you have any more trouble.

Thanks!
