After downloading DF, I started to mouse click around my screen. Particularly holding down left mouse button click, dragging, then releasing. I noticed when I do this, there is a delay before the drag square disppears. Sometimes its even taken half a second before it would disappear and would not happen without DF turned on. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks.

Yeah, I'm just dragging a selection box on the desktop. I uninstalled the latest version and tried it with the Beta and it is still occurring. Is there anything I can do to fix this issue?

Unfortunately, I downloaded the 9.7 Beta-9 and it is still not resolved. I think the issue might be that there are too many processes that may be running? When I open up the settings and click around, it takes a while for me to change to a different settings tabs and click for another tab setting to open. Is there a method to only implement certain or the barebone services in display fusion? Thanks for your help.

Sure. Here it is. I haven't made any changes to any of the settings and have pretty much always been default.

Thanks! I don't see anything out of the ordinary there. Is it only lagging when you're clicking and dragging? Or is it laggy when just moving the mouse without holding the mouse button as well?

It's only laggy when clicking and dragging across my screen. I'm not sure if it has anything to do with my CPU, GPU, RAM, or 144hz monitor or not. I'm running dual monitor setup and my 60hz doesn't have the lag issue that I see on my 144hz monitor. Interestingly enough, I have a mouse where I can change the polling rate between 500hz and 1000hz. When I had the mouse option set to 1000hz, the clicking and dragging acts in the same way as it does when I have DisplayFusion active on my desktop. When I set my mouse to 500hz, there are no issues that I notice. Not sure if this information would help you or not.
Could you both try disabling everything on the Settings > Window Management tab, apply the settings, then let me know if this issue still occurs?
If it goes away, could you try re-enabling the settings one by one to see which one is causing it?
Unfortunately I can't reproduce this issue here, so your help with testing it is much appreciated!

I made a little chart to show what I found. Not much logging data, unfortunately. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1JafCPd2CQcePe-0n6nwqSHQcWB8PEdGzSoUeMcZLO2I/edit?usp=sharing
To answer your question, I had disabled everything and the issue is still occurring. Re-enabling these options held the same result.
I read some other threads unrelated to Display Fusion that the issue may be due to the most recent 1903 Windows update. There are other issues as well with mouse polling rates which I have described earlier which may also cause these mouse stutters.
Ok, interesting. But it stops if you exit DisplayFusion?

It mentions that I need a pro licesnse to use that feature which I do not have.
Ah ok, could you try enabling the "Disable Application Hooks" option in the Settings > Advanced Settings instead then?

That setting was already enabled by default and the click lag was still present. When I disabled this setting, there was no more delay/lag. even at 1000hz polling rate. When I re-enabled it, it started to lag again.
Sorry for the confusion there. By enabling it, I meant "enable the 'disable application hooks' setting," but no matter since you were able to try it both ways. So it sounds like something coule be flooding the hooks.
If you disable everything from Windows startup except for DisplayFusion, does the same thing happen?

Yeah, I disabled everything on startup and the issue was still happening.

I have had this issue happening to me.
I use DF at work with a desktop PC and strong specs and never have this happen. Now at home, I use a laptop with strong specs as well but have significant lag with my mouse when running DF.
I turned off DF and continued doing things with 2 monitors and do not get the mouse lag. I tried running DF and closing out of other resource-heavy programs and still get the lag.
I really like DF but dont like the mouse lag, so let me know if I can provide any info to help resolve this. Until then, I won't be using DF.
@G_W1Z: Were you having this issue in 9.6.1, or did it only start happening after updating to 9.7 Beta 9 or 10?
Also, do you guys both always have logging enabled on the Settings > Troubleshooting tab? If so, could you try disabling it and let me know if that makes any difference at all?

I sent a log at the very beginning of this discussion post. But I can send two separate ones attached below. By default, the settings had it on L0: Disabled Log and I turned it on to save and send the list below.

@G_W1Z and @PandaWooper: Could you both send me a debug log for this issue? Here are the steps:
- On the DisplayFusion Settings > Troubleshooting tab, change the Logging drop-down to "L1: Log Minimal" and click Apply
- Reproduce the issue and note the time so we'll know where to check in the log file
- Click the "Export Info to File" button on the Settings > Troubleshooting tab
- Reply with the file attached
- Disable debug logging after sending the log
Attached is my log with L1: Log Minimal enabled. It happened just before 1:55pm EST. I had it set to L0 before this.

@G_W1Z: Thanks! Looks like the Aero colour changed around that time. In Windows Settings > Personalization > Colours, is the "automatically pick an accent colour" option enabled?
It definitely could be, would you be able to try disabling it and let me know how that works out?

I have the same issue which seemed to start a few days ago. My cursor stutters exactly every 5 seconds. I'm running Pro 9.7 (Beta 10). I think I installed a new update for DF a few days ago too.

I realized I didn't put a time on my last log. I did this at 8:15PM PST. Also, I checked my settings for the colors and accent feature and mine is not turned on.

Thanks guys! We have some changes coming for 9.7 Beta 11 that should hopefully fix this up. We'll keep you posted when it's ready to try out.

I have not had the lag issue since I disabled the Aero color change. Thanks!
