I just recently have been having issues with DCS Flight Simulator that seemed to happen after Windows updates to version 1903. The DCS game would hang at the splash screen and never open. I got with the tech support at DCS and we narrowed it down to Display Fusion because it all works great if I turn it off or exit the program. Basically on the DCS game there is a settings menu with various settings but the one that caused the hangups was where you put a checkmark in the FULL SCREEN setting. Once you did that and restarted the game it would hang at the splash screen. You can download the game for FREE and test it yourself here:

It affects both the stable and beta versions the same.
Thanks,
Dave

If you enable the "Disable Application Hooks" option in the DisplayFusion Settings > Advanced Settings window, then try to load the game again, does it still hang?

I just tried it and YES, the program hangs even with the application hooks disabled. It has always worked fine until the last Win10 update to v1903.
Thanks,
Dave

Thanks! I don't see anything out of the ordinary in the log. I'll give the game a download and see if I can reproduce the issue here, and I'll keep you updated.

Ok great. All you have to do is change the resolution to your current monitor size and also click the Full Screen checkbox.
Thanks,
Dave
Ok, I've tested this out here, but it seems to be working correctly for me. I'm using the latest DCS beta version. Are you on the stable, or beta?

I am using the beta version but it does the same thing on the stable version too. It is weird. I ran the system file checker for windows and it comes up with no errors. I have the Pro version and the machine is just 7 months old with an i8700k, Nvidia 1080ti,and 32 GB ram, with 1TB SSD. I still think Microsoft has something to do with this...
Could you try disabling some DisplayFusion features (titlebar buttons, taskbars, triggers) to see if that makes any difference?

I will try but to be honest, all I did was install it and selected the 2 monitors and pretty much left it there. I didn't enable anything other than the default settings and chose the 2 displays. I will mess with it some more and get back to you tomorrow...
Thanks

Sorry for the delay...I figured out that by shutting off (in the functions) the "Move Window to Different Monitor (Shows monitor selector), my game boots up fine. If I turn it back on, it stalls forever at the splash screen. Hope that helps narrow it down.
Thanks,
Dave
Ok, that's good! On the Settings > Compatibility tab, can you try adding a rule for the game, and in the rule, enable the "Disable TitleBar Buttons (this application)" option?
Excellent, glad to hear it!

Awesome. I've been having this problem... only started recently though. Searched hi and low for whey DCS was sometimes hanging at the splash screen.
Finally worked out the if I disabled DisplayFusion the problem went away. At least I have a fix now. The compatability fix works for me too. Thanks.
