I just brought home a new secondary monitor, and was simply wondering if having a DVI-D connected to my gfx card for my first monitor, and another DVI-D connected to the motherboard itself will work? As of right now, I can't get my PC to detect the 2nd monitor at all.

I believe that can work on some systems, but not all. Some motherboards automatically disable the onboard video if a dedicated video card is detected.

Sorry I can't offer much more help than that! An easy way to add a monitor if you don't have any more outputs on the dedicated card is to use a USB display adapter.

Hope that helps!
