I recently installed beta7, and noticed a big change. Previously, all new programs would open on the monitor of origin. Now that option seems to be missing, so everything opens in the active window. Am I missing something somewhere? I don't want to setup triggers for each of my hundreds of programs!

There's a new option on the Window Management tab called "Move newly opened windows to the current monitor" that should help you out. It should have been enabled by default for you, that's very strange!

BTW, if you did have to create a trigger, you would only need to create one for Create Window for all processes :)

It would need some checks to not move unusual Windows like the Start Menu, however.

So if I uncheck this, the windows should load on the last screen from which they were closed? That's my ultimate end reaction.

But wouldn't this force all new processes to start on the same monitor? The previous behavior was to open on the last they were closed on.

That's correct Leon, if you uncheck this setting the windows will control themselves where they open, which should be on the monitor they were closed on.

Ah cool, I'll give that a go, I'm sure it will fix it.

No offense meant at all, but what happened to Lammers? He was all over this thread a week ago...

I think Jon and I both misread your initial comment as being the opposite of what you wanted.

OTOH, it would be possible to remember the close monitor for every Window and put it back if necessary when opened, but that would not be for the faint of heart. Still only need one trigger, however :)
